  1. You are correct .. I was wrong. My apologies. I was told that I had to convert to sRGB to get NIK to work and I think of it as 8-bit color. My mistake. I just don't work in sRGB. Thanks for pointing out my error.
  2. I'm confused .. I've been using NIK Plug-Ins on 16-bit images in CS6 for a long time now. I have read so many places that it is important to stay in 16-bit if you're doing any kind of serious editing of images. Here with Affinity I am told to just convert to 8-bit and it all works. I'm not making JPEGS for Facebook ... I'm making prints. This is a major stumbling block for me. I am seriously committed to converting to Affinity when this issue is cleared up, but for now I am back to CS6 for my workflow because it works.
  3. Thanks for the reminder ... I had forgotten that I have this option.
  4. Thanks for clarifying this for me. I look forward to when the issue is resolved. I'll use PS when I need NIK. Meanwhile I am enjoying Affinity Photo as I learn how to use it. The videos are priceless.
  5. Hello All, I have to apologize for posting yet another NIK question, but I have been seeing all kinds of different takes on how it works and whether it works in Affinity and I'd like to understand if it is a work in progress or if this is it. I work in 16-bit and Prophoto RGB, and NIK Color Efex Pro colors (for instance) look terrible when I run it. I converted my document to 8 bit and no joy, the colors still look terrible. I finally converted my document to sRGB and the colors finally look correct. I have never had to do these conversions before. Do I have to do this conversion whenever I want to use the plug-ins? Is there any point in converting back to Prophoto 16-bit after I do this? Do I have to work in 8-bit sRGB to use these plug-ins? If anybody out there using a similar workflow has advice I would be very grateful! Affinity Photo 1.5.1.54 Windows
  6. I was just going to ask for the same thing .. As the list of macros grows, I have to close all the ones I am not interested in so that I can see the ones I want. The categories I close should stay closed. Thanks for bringing this up!
  7. I just watched a youtube video by Blake Rudis comparing Photoshop "Blend If" with the equivalent techniques in On1 RAW and Affinity. I thought it was very well done so here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZzO-F8Zc-I. He has a whole series of videos on the various uses for "blend if" in Photoshop which can apply to Affinity "blend ranges" as well. He promises more videos about Affinity due to popular demand. Enjoy...
  8. I too find that I cannot "edit macro" just to see how it works. Except for me it is always greyed out and cannot be selected. Can anyone provide some insight into this? Are some macros somehow designated as "read only"?
