I have done some more testing on my PC running Windows 11. Currently, I am not experiencing any problems using DxO FilmPack 6 or Filmpack 7 with Affinity Photo 2.2.1 or Affinity Photo (Customer Beta) 2.30.2157

Have you raised this before in here?

I do think it's a good idea but like I said, just a bit beyond the current scope—that doesn't mean it would never be considered. Cheers

Well, since anything can be an asset it is still useful functionality. A simple border frame around each asset would be sufficient for me to be able to see where they are located. If no such thing is going to be implemented then I guess I will simply need to use the list option so I can at least see the names.

    Hey FDK,
This change will not do what you are asking. It's simply to change the background colour to make assets with images more visible depending on their attribute. It sounds like your process is quite niche and beyond the scope of what the Asset Panel was intended for.

Chris B reacted to Sunshadow in Affinity Photo 2 - Flood selection tool not selectable in maximized screen
    Hi!

    Here are your requested Informations:
    - USB mouse Logitech G900 (with cable)
    - Taskbar is not set to auto hide. It remains at the bottom
    - German language version of all applications
    - In Affinity Designer the icons "Zeichenstift" and "Bleistift" are not selectable
    - In Affinity Publisher it depends. When moving a toolbar with some icons to the ame position of the unclickable Icons of Affinity Designer they are also unselectable.
I've just updated to the latest NVIDIA driver 546.17 11/14/23 and tried to use Windows Key + Up arrow. The icon still remains unselectable.

So in total I would say there is an area in every Affinity app where the left mouse click has no effect while the application is running in fullscreen mode.
I can't provide more screenshots, server is blocking my uploads with Errorcode 200...

    Hey Sunshadow,
I can check this when I get home.
I've got a 49" 5120 x 1440p monitor and a 34" 3440 x 1440p monitor available to me so hopefully we can reproduce this and get it logged with the developers. I'll reply tonight once I've checked.

    Hey tzvi20,
The Styles Panel is indeed wrong here. It should be Delete (as it is on macOS) so that's the bug. I'll get this logged. Thank you.

Chris B reacted to James Ritson in Astrophotography Stacking Affinity Photo 2 and GBRG Green Cast on Images
Hi @Ruyton, thank you for providing the files so I could experiment with the full stacked result.
From a bit of reading on various forums (PixInsight, Cloudy Nights etc), there are generally a few things to try in order to correct the green cast including an unlinked screen transfer function, photometric colour calibration, background neutralisation, SCNR etc.
I have cobbled together a workflow that does the trick, although it does involve using my astrophotography macros (free download, link here). I've attached a screen recording to this post, and here are the steps:
Delete the Curves and Levels adjustments (these are providing rudimentary tone stretching, but we are going to use a colour preserving stretch instead) Run the SCNR Green Max/Additive macro. This will mostly neutralise the green colour cast Run the Colour Preserving Tone Stretch macro. This will colour balance and produce a decent stretched output Now use Filters>Astrophotography>Remove Background and sample tones until you neutralise the background. In your data there is a gradient so this requires slightly more work Without the macros, you could achieve a similar result with a bit of manual work. I would use Remove Background on the Stacked Image 1 layer (sampling multiple points to remove the gradient), tweak the Curves adjustment to avoid blowing out the core of the nebula, then use a White Balance adjustment above Stacked Image 1 but below the other adjustments. Moving the Tint slider towards a magenta bias rather than green will help eliminate the green colour cast.
Hope the above helps! Here is the screen recording:

Chris B reacted to James Ritson in Unable to reset Brush settings in Affinity Photo back to default
    Hopefully I've understood this correctly!
@Kahrkura perhaps frustratingly, there is no brush within all the categories that exactly mirrors the default brush settings when you first run the app. This is something I found difficult for a workflow where you switch to a textured brush but then just want a basic round brush with tight spacing (e.g. for masking purposes). The round brush presets on the Basic category have wider spacing which is insufficient for this.
Try the Masking category on the Brushes panel. They're designed to be as close as possible to the default brush, so you can pick something like "Tight Spacing - Medium Soft", then bring the Hardness up to 80% if you want to match the default brush value. These use a small spacing value so are good for painting with masks.
Alternatively, under any brush category click the panel options icon (the three bars to the right) and choose New Round Brush. This will create a basic round brush with the default parameters: Hardness at 80%, Spacing at 15%, Flow at 100% and Width at 64px.
    Hope that helps.

I don't believe this issue is specific to the bug fix in the latest Beta 2.3.0.2119:
In v1.10.6 and v2.1.1 it is possible to delete System Palettes from the Swatches Panel but In the current Beta, the option to Delete a System Palette is greyed out.
The only way to delete a System Palette in the current Beta is to delete it using v2.1.1 or v1.10.6.

    Hi Gary,
You might be on to something here. In V1, the app defaulted to using approximately half of the installed RAM on the machine.
In V2, there's actually a bug wherein the RAM usage slider isn't set to half, it seems to be more and we've just found resetting the app doesn't reset the usage slider... Perhaps this is why V1 was OK and V2 was not.
I cannot imagine the app using more than 22GB unless you're keeping it open all day with multiple files so I think that value is fine going forwards.
We've fed this back to the developers. Hopefully you continue to see positive results going forward.
