Hey anto - that's it! It's an issue with the Iris Plus GPU. I've just reproduced it on my first go with a different MacBook.
I will get this logged with the developers - thanks for persevering with this.

    Hi @Affinity-Inspiration,
This should work and bring across the Metadata correctly without the need to export the image to disk first...

I suspect that's because you've not gone into Edit Mode in Photos first...
In Photos, if you load a RAW image and simply right-click and select 'Edit With' and then select Affinity Photo it will load the file in the Photo Persona as a Tiff...
If instead, with the RAW file loaded in Photos, you click the Edit button (top right) first to take Photos into 'Edit Mode' and then select the Extensions Icon (the ellipsis in a circle) and select 'Edit in Affinity Photo' selecting the Beta (or whichever version you want to use) it should then load the RAW file from Photos into the Develop Persona of Affinity Photo...

Hey Irving, I downloaded the data from Telescope Live today and had a quick go at processing. I came up with the attached image. I've intentionally gone a bit over the top (especially with the colour processing) to hopefully demonstrate that Photo can indeed stack the data quite well and that you can bring out plenty of detail. It would be easy enough to tone the result down if the colours are too garish.
    I did the following:
Mono Log Stretch on the L-RGB data layers L-RGB colour mapping Linear fit using Blue data as the base scale Star separation using StarXTerminator Super Texture on the starless layer HSL and Selective Colour to increase saturation and then skew some of the colours to make them more vibrant Reduce Background Luminosity Deepen Colour Detail Enhance Red/Green/Blue/Magenta/Yellow signals Enhance Blue/Green Detail Boost Red/Yellow Detail HSL to reduce saturation slightly Merged to Pixel layer in order to run NoiseXTerminator (not particularly necessary for this image since noise was pretty good, but just to clean it up slightly) Enhance Structure Highlight Protected Tone Lift Highlight Recovery Bandpass Sharpening (Regular) Stars layer at very top (with Add blend mode) Finally, I did rotate the image 180 degrees to match the version you posted above.

Thanks. That means that support in LibRaw is imminent, but we don't know when they will make the LibRaw package publicly available for download outside of rawdigger.

Three and a half years later and this micro delay issue still hasn't been dealt with. Still just as annoying. Happens with both mouse and Wacom tablet.

Edit: Didn't realize I was in V1 forums. This is still present in 2.3.1 which makes it even sadder.

Affinity uses LibRaw: https://www.libraw.org/supported-cameras when your camera is added to LibRaw, Affinity will add it in an update/upgrade following the addition of your camera, please bear in mind this may not be an immediate update/upgrade.
There are various posts regarding this on the forum.

I think the issue here, is that the objects inside the Artboards 'appear' to be tagged but, if you right-click them, you will see they aren't. The bug here I think is that inherited tags should also be considered by the queries but they currently are not!
    I'll get this logged.

    Hi @lululightning,
Just for reference purposes, here is a link to the list of currently supported cameras...
Affinity apps use the LibRaw library so are reliant on camera support being added by them... There's clearly been a change between the Lumix DC G9 and the DC G9 Mark II since RAW files from the former, which are supported, open without issue...

    Hi @Chris B,
Another side effect of this bug is that while you can select the tag colour for any layer, if an Artboard has a particular tag colour e.g., blue but an object on that artboard uses a different tag colour e.g., green, even when tag colours are physically applied to inherited layers if you create a Query named Green which uses the tag colour green in conjunction with And show / hide others this means enabling Show for the Green query won't work for all objects with a green tag colour because while the child layer for the artboard with the blue tag colour has a green tag colour, its parent, the artboard isn't shown because it has a blue tag colour...
I'm unsure if this is considered expected behaviour for And show / hide others in this scenario but using the same setup still allows Select Same > Tag Colour to correctly select the relevant objects across the multiple artboards which makes sense but I guess it restricts you to using the same tag colour for both parent and child layers...

Thanks. Always nice to get some websites with sources. I tried a few and they opened but they opened incorrectly. I was just getting a red canvas.
OP sounded like they couldn't even get as far as opening them.
Still, I'd like one from the OP so we can get it into the system.

There are some sample RAW files from the Lumix G9 Mark II available here...

@lululightning would you mind attaching a raw from the Lumix G9? I can't find a free sample online so if you can send one over, I can try and put it on the list for when we next update the supported raw files.

Chris B reacted to James Ritson in 32-bit HDR PNG support added
It was introduced last year: https://www.w3.org/TR/png-3/
So far, FCPX and Davinci Resolve appear to support this (I haven't tried other editors yet), as well as macOS Sonoma and various web browsers, so it's getting fairly decent adoption. It looks to be a good solution for interchanging HDR broadcast imagery in a lossless format. OpenEXR is supported by most NLEs but has non-user-friendly colour management.
JPEG-XL was possibly going to be a good solution, but Chrome dropped it (not long before/after we released V2, I think) and support for it isn't widespread.
The cICP chunk in this PNG format allows the image to be tagged and processed with various video-centric colour spaces, which is more robust for broadcast workflows where the imagery needs to integrate seamlessly with video content, rather than being dependent on ICC (particularly for HDR content where you have HLG/PQ colour spaces with different transfer characteristics).

    Hey Designer1,
Respectfully, I've split this from the PNG HDR thread posted by Ash as we want to keep replies relevant to the new feature. We understand your feelings regarding the current PNG/JPEG export and any further comments should be posted in your existing thread if possible. That way, if and when the time comes that the developers wish to look into this, everything is in one place.

It would be important to improve the export quality of PNG and JPG. Affinity Designer is a great app, the biggest disadvantage is the poorer export quality than Adobe Illustrator.
