  1. Just want to carefully ask if there is a chance in the near future to see more than one decimal place in creating/modifiying objects? For most things just one place is enough, but if it goes technical I have to use more exact measurements like 10,75 - at least two decimal places are enough for my purposes :) Any chance to see that in the near future? Tx guys, you're doing always a fantastic job :)
  2. The difference is: Convert will change definitly the values of the colors based on the selected profile. Assign just assigns the profile to the document but doesn't change the values. The button always jumps back to Convert, so you can't see if you have converted or assigned last time used :(. But for me it works good enough. If I use the basic CMYK profile it wouldn't be embedded into the file, if I use any other profile it will be embedded (see filesize). Assign only makes sense if you still have the correct colours used/selected, if they got allready false converted there is noch way back as to revert to a older version of the document :(
  3. That's odd, but even if AD ignores the profile - have you tried to change the profile and use the "assign" instead of the "convert" button directly beneath the profiles? Makes a big difference :)
  4. Cool ship artwork. Curious to see the other models :)
  5. Dear Matt, I tried EPS testing today. I exportet and importet them. Also I used some older EPS (Illustrator) files for testing. And what should I say? They look just as they should - great work done, your solution seems to work perfectly for my purposes. Thank you so much. I don't know if lastly all will be ok, but all files I tried were perfectly usable for my purposes. Keep up the good work and best wishes :D Markus
  6. Again Matt, thanks a lot. I know this is nothing what could be "corrected" in a second and the RC has priority. Cause I know about the difficulties I can currently live with it - it's no showstopper at all, so please take your time. :) Document Setup - Transparent background - Assign/Convert. Ouch, truley this confused me and so I never had the idea to try it out. Thanks for that tip. Sometimes ... I think moving the Transparent button down under will help :D Is it correct that Assign/Convert is only vissible if I have a document open and not when creating a new document? Ok, that may make sense. Hm, if I change from Convert to Assign, close the dialogue and reopen it - it's back to Convert. A bug, wanted or do I still something wrong  I'm so sorry for again bothering you ...
  7. Dear Matt, first of all I want to thank you so much for taking time and the explanation of the mechanisms. :) Assign and not convert just looks like what I need. But where can I assign it? I only found the document setup profile which changes the whole doc?! Maybe you can explain that a little bit practical? Hmm, an EPS file (also from AD) does contain basic information of the colorspace used (for every object, without the Illustraot header), example: "/DeviceCMYK setcolorspace" as here for the red rectangle. So it is wrong in my opinion to say: hey, that EPS is generally RGB. If it's unsure what colorspace is contained it should at least ask which profile should be used - or else EPS is rendered useless cause all were basically RGB for AD. In professional printing environment CMYK is more important than RGB, even if you work with an RGB workflow - and I don't even know a EPS that holds RGB data here in printing environment. Sadly there are some agencies that asks still for EPS files, even if you have sent PDF  But for the most part definitly PDF will the export format to be used. So thank you again for your help and patience, it is really appreciated :)
  8. New RC but still very important color converting problems still exist. The EPS import color bug: Make a new doc, draw a box with color 100M 100Y 15K (or any other) and export it as PDF and EPS. Open the files in AD - the PDF displays the correct color but EPS something at 3C 96M 81Y 11K. Changing the profile changes not only the color how it's displayed, it also changes the color value. Make a new document with the "ISO coated v2 300% (ECI)" profile for professional printing workflow. Draw a box with my loved color 100M 100Y 15K (or any other) and saved it to an AD file. It has now a file size of 1.4 mb cause of embedding the ECI-profile and the color is displayed right as expected. Now change in the document setup the profile to "Generic CMYK Profile" and the color look darker and dirtier, and the values have changed to 1 C 90 M 96 Y 4 K. Optic may change, but the values from CMYK <-> CMYK? Nope. And now, when I change the colours (not the profile) back to the wanted and correct 100 M 100 Y 15 K the red looks again fantastic, as it should (though the change of the profile). And if I save the file now it is only about 50 kb cause the profile doesn't get anymore embeded. That is a big problem for me cause color have to be 100 % reliable - optic may change little but the values absolutely must not, at last it have to be selected if conversation by values or display). Maybe the EPS import color-problem results from a miss interpretation of the profile, too? -> uses Generic CMYK Profile but should have used the ECI-one. Illustrator does this correct. The profile is not embeded in the EPS but the name of it which should be used (or it should show an profile error and let user select a correct one ). Please look into this, as long as I have no guarantie the colors don't change like wild with unexpected results I have hardly a chance to use the files for production :( Thanks in advance for looking into this, as always, cause I know that all of you have just two hands (or four paws?). Oh, and all other helpfull advice is greatly welcome :) Attached is the ECI-Profile for colorsync and a little screencast of changing values. PS: Or should I have postet it into the bugs section??? 9. Totally agree with A_B_C - the Krauts love their commas, too :) +1 from me :D
  10. New document size = size of content in clipboard (especially it has been copied/cut before in AD) sounds very good to me, too. +1 :)
  11. MEB, maybe it's a good idea to put up the information regarding volume purchases to a prominent place, cause it makes life easier for anyone who is in need of more than one license (small agencies, ...) which are not necessarily aware of the volume programme by apple via the App Store?!
  12. This was discussed some times before. Just take a look here, something may fit your needs https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/5302-vector-art-conversion/?hl=%2Bvector+%2Bmagic&p=25173
  13. Dear Ronnie, you showed very clearly how to plan an begin to realize the website-project. I meant not to go in to deep, more of a shortcut video about what software/platform you used and how the forms beeing realized to finish this "simple" website - just to give an idea of what can be used to bring it online. It feels like a small piece is missing :) And I like that you set the focus to the creative process, I think that's the basic for all projects (print or online). A premium course, specialized on realizing web (template) development (for example from AD to Wordpress, ...) would be very interesting. But as you allready wrote, it is very difficult to find a good start (which software should be used, Wordpress, any other, and people are so different: some are better in coding, some don't know a HTML command and and some lucky others are a "mixed media salad" and have at last (basic) knowledge of web development. And as the Master Salad you will be predestinated to do such a course ;)
  14. Puh Matt, that calms me down - I mainly think so, too. But you can never know if there is a deeper sense in some things ...
  15. Why is it loaded transparent and placed (and interpreted) as document and so not transparent?! I think I do not understand this correctly: If there ist nothing = not a shape with a white background - why should it be interpretet as one? If document or not ... this seems very impractical to me. Sorry, I'm a little be confused about this  cause in InDesign, ... it is correct with a transparent background.
  16. Dear Andrew, I can confirm a bug of jumping fonts. I am running 10.10.2 with the Apple Fontmanager. If I make a textbox and use the character panel und want to change the font I can klick them and scroll through the list, but if I use the curser keys to scroll up and down it jums somewhere -> mainly to the Arial and does not scroll.
  17. Matt, is then the document dpi relevant for the export or is this a fixed size like 300 dpi for PDF export? If it's the document dpi then you can gain e better result by choosing a higher dpi number?!
  18. The EPS import color bug still exists: Make a new doc, draw a box with color 100M 100Y 15K (or any other) and export it as PDF and EPS. Open the files in AD - the PDF displays the correct color but EPS something at 3C 96M 81Y 11K. I think this should be fixed for the RC.
  19. I thoght exactly like this. Not a circle but same shape.
  20. Allright MEB, no candy today - but it's ok, to much sweeties makes me lazy :P
  21. Is there a way to copy/save/export/change my workspace? On my iMac I made some changes to work effectivly in my workflow and now I'd like to have the same workspace adjustments on my MacBook. Also I my workspace looks a little different when I'm doing web gfx than for illustration - so switching workspaces with an export option sounds cool to me. Just another thought to make life easier these days ... ^_^
