  1. Thanks Miguel, didn't notice that the Blend Options work with this, also the Erase White Paper Filter was new for me (omg :) - comes in handy and I think a combination of this will do the trick. Thank you very much! Is there a chance to preserve the scanned text in pure black instead of converted to all cmyk-channels with this? That would make it pefect cause of exakt register printing/overprinting problems of multicoloured text :)
  2. I have here some scanned text which is saved as a greyscale jpg cause if you convert it to true black & white (bitmap) it looks awfull. But now I need to colour the whole background with - let's say - 100% yellow for printing. How can I make the file transparent in a manor that looks good? - true black & white with transparency tiff is a no go, looks awfull - is there a good looking alternative? - multiply layer to background (with colour) does the trick not exactly, cause it isn't anymore 100% yellow and the greyscale get's converted to cmyk, too - in best case I have a true greyscale image with transparency on 100% yellow ... but how? Thanks for anything that may help :)
  3. Just wondering ... all hate the Adobe Apps - certainly for the subscription modell - and want instantly a fully featured suite of tools that cost a fraction, has no subscription and is (at least nearly) as good as the Adobe Apps today - ideally with the same shortcuts and 100% interoperability. But PageMaker, Photoshop, XPress, CorelDraw, ... have taken a long time to evolute to be there were they are. Sure, I also want the Publisher as soon as possible for my prepress and design demands, all Apps bugfree with a lot of features, but sometimes we must be patient. It needs time to get a stable, feature rich, affordable software suite for publishing, illustration and photos. The staff of Serif Affinity listen to their users here and we all can help together to get a better product. And we are lucky that they are developing a mac style intuitiv software - and not only port the Serif counterparts for Windows (PagePlus, DrawPlus, ..). to Mac which are usefull, but not as half as intuitiv as the Affinitys Apps :)
  4. If fonts are not fully embedded in a PDF (just as subset or not) I saw that AD asks for replacement, even when they are installed. But replacing has worked for me. However it is annoying to do so ...
  5. Waiting for Publisher :)

  6. Working and testing ...

  7. Thanks for the reliable info about the resolution Dave :) As you explain it is now clear that it is not the stored colour space. Such a global checking feature for publisher should be very helpfull preparing data. So in short: at this moment it is not possible to see what colour space a picture uses in a PDF document but the resolution is realiable displayed!? If so, I think it would be very helpfull if the used colour space of the object will be displayed next to the resolution info. And I'm gladly waiting for Publisher :)
  9. I get a huge number of PDF files to work with, but a common problem is simple: is the resolution for the embedded pictures high enough? I can simply open the PDF files with AP and they mostly look very good, but is there any chance to check the individuell resolution of the images? The global document resolution does not help cause images can be embedded with different resolutions. Is the resolution information reliable? I'm not sure cause the the following seems also not reliable ... Also, I can check for the "Document Colour Format", if it is set to CMYK does it mean that the whole Document ist ONLY CMYK or ist ist basically CMYK but other like RGB, ... are possible? Even if the Document Colour Format say CMYK the Colour Palette says RGB. It seems that this is independent from the actually used colourspace, but if so I think it should be switched automatically to the document colour mode. If the resolution ist correct it would be perfect if the used colour space is displayed nearby. Or general: is there an alternative if this doesn't work to check the objects in the PDF for resolution and colourspace (except Acrobat)?! Thanks, as always, for any help :) Markus
  10. Mmmh, just wondering: I just see two red extra nodes and not three. If I use the node tool or select the star tool, convert to curves or not makes no difference?!?!
  11. This option gives very good results, with some certain problems you have to know. Unfortunally is the filesize much bigger than done the same manor in Photoshop. So good results are possible but still with bigger filesizes.
  12. I also request better handling for multiple images. Drag'n drop works, but unfortunally all images are placed without the possibility to skale them by placing. That would be very helpfull - also for Publisher at a later time ;)
  13. Just updated. Trying the new PDF export-formates and artboards the next days :) Thanks for the good work guys!
  14. Happy to see that it is possible to use more than 1 decimal place since the last MAS-Version, it really helps me for technical drawings a lot. But I found as default in the preferences for "Milimetres = 1". You can change that easily but I think it is much better to have here at least a "2" as default for 2 decimal places. And as I'm thinking of it, Points should be also have 2 decimal places as default. Nowadays fonts differ widely and we have often ads and tecnical plates where we must use fontheights like 8,75 pt or something like that. See Screenshot. Just my thoughts, but I think it is a pretty neat idea to have these as defaults ... PS: I really love the new mac style preference window with it's options :) Well done!
  15. I also recommend here to have the option to use all marks, just cropmarks or cropmarks with filename/date/page, just to be flexible for output like: private printing, copyshops and professional printers. Thanks :)
  16. Not as acurate as the keyboard but fit's very well for my needs. Thanks Magnus!
  17. Any idea how It's been used on a german keyboard/system? The brackets are "alt + 5" = [ and "alt + 6" = ] but that only changes in AD/AP only the layer opacity :(
  18. At present it seem so. AF has slightly bader quality und higher filesize compared to photoshop. It's ok for me for normal print jpgs, but for web I still use photoshop. But I'm sure the team will fix or improve this in the future. :)
  19. Does anyone know which keys work for a german keyboard to change the brush size? It would make live so much easier ... :) Thanks in advance for any help.
  20. Purchased and also updated AD. Thanks guys for an awesome job. Great work.
  21. Happy to read that you're working at your own PDF exporter rather than using Apples. Apple is doing fine and it will be usefull for most of the users, but I think going professionell you simply need more controll over the options. Happy to see that soon :)
  22. Allright, stranke cleay. MAybe you can try this: Go to User -> ~Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices/com.apple.launchservices.secure.plist and open the XML-file. Find the match for the file types and delete them. Now you should be able to apply again the filetype to AP and AD manually again. But you should be always very careful by manupalting system files ...
  23. No problem cleay, just use again the information panel of the .afphoto-file, change the programm back to AP und click the option below this field to change all files to open again in AP.
