Q: Disintegration Effect
artyr replied to Sturm1991's topic in Tutorials (Staff and Customer Created Tutorials)
Hi, nice tutorial i'm following it to. What you have to do is click on the thumbnail on the mask to select it then you can paint on the mask. By default a mask is always white and then you can paint with black to hide things and white to reveal. What he did was selecting the mask and then used the flood fill tool to make it black, so to invert the mask. Using the flood fill on a mask doesn't work in AF. What you have to do and what he had to do.is select the mask then go to menu -Layer- and choose -invert- that is the more logicall approach. Inverting the mask gives you the power to "add "certain effects ,like adjustments, to only a portion of your picture. If you don't invert you have to "remove" effects from your picture and that means a lot more painting. Hope this make sense, you should really look up on masking in picture editing because it is very powerfull. Jack -
Affinity Animator?
artyr replied to neigh's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
I would rather like to see that Serrif made a plugin for Apple Motion so that we could import layered Affinity files. Although a complete new application would be nice to. Jack. -

Wow, didn't know about the blend-if technique.Cool that it is implemented now. Here is a link where i found some use of the method. http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/blend-if/ AP method seems a bit different hopefully Serrif makes a video about it. Jack. -
Some jpegs Photo won't open.I think it is a size issue. Its 3000x2000 pixels it opens in Designer with no problem. File included, Jack. RS12910__MG_9999-hpr.jpg.zip

Hi, I found this article http://www.designskilz.com/free-photos/ It has some very good links to sites that offer free stock photos of very good quality. Might come in handy when Affinity Publisher is released or you could use it in Designer. Jack.

What would it take in your development to let Motion and FCPX import layered Affinity files? Is this something these programs have to sort it out for themselves our could you write an exporter. If the first do you need to provide Apple your file code? I know you are working on exporting to full PSD files but it would be great if you could spread your own file format to the world. Maybe you could talk with Apple. And tell them: "Hey we are number 1 in the Appstore, give us some slack" :D Jack.
