Sometimes I use this tool and there are circles, double circles and vectors showing up all over the place. What are these for and what do they mean?

I have somehow deleted the right hand too bar with Navigator, adjustments, history etc tabs that Afinity normally opens with under the persona of "Develop" How do I get this back? I have already tried reset and close and open, looked under window and view. what are other options?

I have just installed beta and Shadows adjustment does not work. Highlights adjustment does work. What do I need to do?
