Pixel and Poly got a reaction from Krustysimplex in [ADe] Select same color / fill / stroke / appearance
I totally agree. Many times in a studio environment you are dealing with many different types of files from clients and other artist that may need adjusting.
These features are the difference between a very simple task and a very tedious one. Time = money in many of these cases.

Pixel and Poly reacted to VectorVonDoom in Playing with polygons, Grant Wood American Gothic 1930
It's nothing clever and the polygon fad might have passed but it was fun to do. Most use a very low polygon count and just something like a face but I like to make it more complicated for myself, not necessarily better though. I had already done a version but wasn't happy with it so this is my new attempt.
A tip is to duplicate the layer(s) and perhaps add a tiny bit of blur to the background copy. That fills in the minute gaps between the shapes and the output's much nicer.
Click on it then click "full size" and it's not so blurry.

Agreed. You know what helps sell more licenses? When I can honestly recommend the software to fellow designers. Until basic stuff like this is taken care of, I can't really do that.

I totally agree! (very funny about the parents too!)
I really hope that on one of the next major updates we can see some production oriented changes that focus on the less flashy features and address many of the features that are used by designers in a production environment every day. I know the flashy features may sell the product but the 'boring' features that are missing are the ones that keep people using a product for production on jobs.

Pixel and Poly reacted to LennartGäbel in [ADe] Select same color / fill / stroke / appearance
I thought after a year since I last checked, this topic would have become a priority - as it is for sooo many users! Don't get me wrong - you are doing a great job for such a small team, but why implement Portuguise and Russian before this MUST HAVE feature? Again THIS IS A MUST! Hire some folks. Please hurry, I don't wanna go back to Illustrator and live with my parents!!!

Pixel and Poly reacted to Narsilion in [ADe] Select same color / fill / stroke / appearance
Since AD doesn't have any selection wand or "select same" option, i just can't use it as real tool for work. Selecting single objects i too time consuming.
That's the Rubikon between tools and toys. And do cross it soon, I tell ya!

Pixel and Poly reacted to airguitarbandit in [ADe] Select same color / fill / stroke / appearance
I just made an account on this forum to leave this comment because selecting objects with the same fill/border color is a deal-breaker. I've been successfully testing out AD with projects and using it for work, but this just stopped my project in it's tracks. I also realize the "global colors" work great, but only after they've been implemented. When I bring in artwork from somewhere else (let's say a really complicated SVG bar chart with 4 different color bars) there's no way to select all the pieces I want to MAKE THEM GLOBAL.
+1 and then some

Pixel and Poly reacted to folio94 in lock guides
Good afternoon from Paris (France)
Since I use Affinity Designer I am regularly confronted to problem with guides.
Often when I move an object or when I resize it, I often capture the closest guide.
In the new release of Inkscape, they have added a new feature where you can lock the guide so that you can't then modify them by mistake.
May I suggest news evolutions about guides ?
The possibility to lock them On mouse over the possibility od displaying a tooltip with the value and then inside the UI we should find a lock pictogram to active it and retrieve this feature inside the guide's pop-up aswell as a checkbox like "Lock guides". The ability to export guides as a layer. What do you think about that ?
Warm regards.

Pixel and Poly got a reaction from dfreeman in Dr. Fate - comicbook colored inked artwork
I colored this inked artwork by Walter Simonson in Photo. The art I had to work with wasn't very high res so I needed to resize and adjust the lineart slightly. Walt is an amazing comicbook artist mostly known for his incredible THOR run.
Comicbook fans, enjoy!

+1 this. It's a must, and I don't understand why it's not already implemented.

Pixel and Poly got a reaction from telemax in Preview toggle for export files - Photo
It would be very useful to be able to see the images as they will be saved when adjusting the settings in the export dialog box.
So for example if we select JPG and lower the quality to 25% you would see the image update to show the compression artifacts. I find that many times it is important to lower quality setting as much as possible but without losing quality to specific areas and it's hard to really know where to set these setting if we cannot see a real time view of the export settings.
There could be a toggle switch to turn the preview on or off.
This could also apply to any pixel dimension changes and other compression / export settings but even just showing the JPG compression would be nice.
Cheers!
