"For me" that works and is helpful. I never rule out the idea that it can be something on my end. I detailed this in another post. THAT IS NOT THE FIRST GO-TO
As for me, the idea that the checked new document stops the update should be enough for the developers to look at. I would think it should close a blank document or offer to save and close one with content
Don't apologize: I don't need it and you don't mean it This will keep happening. Someone will post something and it will be attacked by the grammarians and the spelling cops until the original idea is all but lost. Please just stop that! as for default document ... do you think that if the first response was "what do you mean by default document" things might have gone better? Of course it would although a lot less fun and fulfilling. Since programs like word an excel open to a "default document" I will not hang my head in shame over that usage although it was a bit confusing in an Affinity context.
But I am don with this one and am not worried if anything is done with this. You guys beat me to death over this and I do not have the energy  to contend with this silliness.

You definitely have the right idea! One possiblefix exists in charmap. It is not an example of how it should be done but magnifying one character at a time would help solve the problem

    Affinity Publisher v2.0.4
    Windows 10
I have been experiencing a strange bug, as of yet the only thing that somewhat reliably replicates this that i have been able to identify is modifying the border of a text frame or table. After this, if i attempt to type within one of my existing text boxes, my letters are automatically shifted to uppercase, my spacebar still functions but any special character AND the backspace key instead create an error symbol within the text. the attached screenshot was taken after i tested replicating the bug, the ? symbols are me trying to press my backspace. using the "delete" key while this bug is happening will delete the entire text frame that i was typing in, regardless of where i was typing or if i have text highlighted.

Rick G reacted to walt.farrell in Index panel, Separator option, focus lost when typing or deleting multiple characters
Create a document, add some text, and set some index markers. Create a new text frame, and Insert an Index. In the Index panel Options field, Separator, type several characters. I find that when I type the first separator character, it is added to all the index entries as expected. However, at that point, the panel loses focus, and the text cursor is somewhere within the index text frame. Possibly in an entry, possibly after all of them.
Type another character that you intend to be part of the separator, and it gets inserted wherever the text cursor ended up.
Alternative sequence of actions: Having added several characters as a Separator, by clicking in the Separator field after adding each, try to delete a separator character. I find that after I delete 1 character, the text cursor is again somewhere within the index entries. If I try to delete another separator character and don't notice the panel has lost focus, it deletes a character from the index text.
Tested with Publisher 2.0.3.1688 on Windows 10.

Rick G reacted to Mike Bartels in V2.0.3 unable to export to PDF
Hello, sadly I've encountered the same experiences. A a really weird problem occured yesterday: two identical pages used in two different jobs could be exported to PDF in only one of them. Compared to V1, the software is somewhat slower and the resulting files even perhaps becomes larger than before.
Until now I haven't got a clue, wether the the new version will bring me one one step further at all.

    How long have you waited?
If long enough that you're sure it's hung, and if Task Manager doesn't show that it's doing anything, you might need to end the task and try starting it again.

See what @haakoo said then "major design work of Photo and Designer" (why did I know Someone was going to call me on that?)
If you have a Graphic or digital art, build them in the appropriate program(s). Publisher being a page layout program is less suited to building 40 layers of adjustments for your photo than is ... Photo. Studio link adds a better than expected set of tools for doing more than just simple tweaks but if you need more you should probably EDIT IN PHOTO / DESIGNER
Trying to do the major lifting of photo within Publisher is akin to building a spreadsheet in Word. Yes it CAN be done but it is not the right tool for the job
    Sorry if I was unclear

Hi thanks for the welcome !
I don't really know, I've the basic Roboto font and it's weird because it works well with my 2 others PC with the same workflow...

    Ohhhhhh !
It works ! I deleted the font by FontBase, deleted the left one font by a command with the terminal, downloaded and past them in the Google Folder and it works well now !

Thank you and have a nice week end ❤️

    I use font base too.
What you MAY have to do is remove the folder that has Rooto in it from the Fontbase interface. Then go to the Fontbase fonts folder and make sure it is gone from there
Then add the folder back into Fontbase after making sure the original folder does not have Roboto duplicates

These are community support forums and you cannot pick and choose who replies or tell them what to say. You also cannot swear.
If you do not want to see replies then you can ignore individual users as you choose (there's an option on the hover and in the profile) but to do so risks you missing correct answers and work-arounds, as have been given here.

    Cmd+drag will duplicate.
Opt+drag will duplicate and ignore Snapping.
Cmd+J will duplicate. At that point, you could use the Move Tool and the arrow keys to move the object. There's another current topic that indicates that Shift+drag will maintain horizontal or vertical alignment (so, perhaps, Cmd+J then Shift+drag?) but I haven't played with it yet.

In the PDF Export dialog, press the ‘More’ button and then clear the ‘Subset fonts’ checkbox. This will ensure that the entire font is embedded, including the ligatures, not just the individual characters that were typed when the document was created.

Rick G reacted to 000 in Why is there not export as HTML
Affinity Publisher is not a web design application -- what you can do is use Designer or Photo to lay out a website and then export the assets (images) and send them to your web design app or your programmer.

    Hi
I do lots of exports from Affinity Publisher and Affinity Designer. I really miss a button in the toolbar to be able to do this. I know I can  choose Export in the menu, and also use Keyboard shortcuts, but I would like to have a button as well. It don't have to be there by default, but at least as an option while Customizing the toolbar. This would be a feature request across all three Desktop apps.

Rick G reacted to dominik in Why are there no templates for greeting cards in Publisher?
There are so many different variants of greeting cards in the world that it would be hard to make a good choice of which formats to include and which ones to leave out. This would end up in either an enormous list of templates or a lot of complains in the forum.
The template feature is made for each user to set up it's individual collection of preferred formats (oops, basically I just told you to set it up by yourself. Sorry 😉 )
It should be relatively easy to bring some of the Serif PagePlus templates over via an export as PDF. You can also use any template from the net and use that as a starting point.
