Rick G reacted to v_kyr in How do I get a painting / drawing effect?
Depending on the photo motive that's not very difficult, here is a night shot of a well know place in town ...
... and then some applied adjustments ...
... and then tweak it further ...
The way to get such an effect is overall to lower contrast (say -100%), enhance shadows (say +100%), reduce some color hues (cyan/blue/magenta about -35%) and add some slightly vibrance. - You can also apply selective color adjustments for certain colors of the respective image.

And I still use VP. But it basically died in 2002 when Corel decided to not update it any longer.

Rick G reacted to AiDon in Difficult Panorama wont Stitch (Beta/Prd)
I'm not sure that the 1 & 4 images are that similar as the 1 image has a shore background, anyway it is a opportunity for AP to improve as even Hugin, one of the better Panorama apps, does it easily.
FootNote: Products that have AutoStitch (like AutoPano) stich it OK … I wonder if Serif PanoramaPlus will work?

Rick G reacted to Alfred in Difficult Panorama wont Stitch (Beta/Prd)
Given that PanoramaPlus is based on AutoStitch it should work in theory, but in practice there have been a number of reports about the full version of PanoramaPlus doing a poor job where the free Starter Edition worked fine!

Hi AiDon,
I've seen similar issues when there's too much overlapping. If you don't use the file 83.jpg at all and crop the right part of the 82 a little it should stitch correctly. In any case Affinity Photo should be able to handle this alone. I will log this to be looked at.

I just had an idea! Why don't the posts about the failings of designer GO INTO THE DESIGNER FORUM (or Designer beta as appropriate)? Search first to see if anyone has already pointed out the issue and add to it. If not then create an issue that others can verify and support
Dominik was just letting you know that it was different people working on Spotlight, marketing people
So get your issues into the correct forums so they can be addressed

^^ Same. It was first introduced to me when I was in college. It was way over my head, and it certainly didn't have an easy learning curve.

There's no need to rush things and I'm sure the same people asking for the immediate release of Publisher would be the first ones to raise the pitchforks if something's wrong with it.
You can only speak for yourself.

Is this not a MARKETING effort? It is not much different that social media posts. A different project done by different people expecting a different otcome than that of the developers

It was not our decision to invest in AP and AD for iOS, AS, etc. “instead of” in Publisher after the statement “After completing the full suite on the Mac […] we willlook into other platforms” and altering the start for 2015, …

RSS is fairly easy to set up but in case it is not implemented, just make a filter with the first email to a folder of your choosing. Most of my mail gets filtered one way or another
