Rick G reacted to MEB in Miss Maude Fealy - Colourisation
You are getting better and better at this... Great choice of colours. Maybe the hair shadow near the left eye could be touched a little? It's too strong on red/orange.

Rick G reacted to SmilingJ in Introducing... Affinity Spotlight
Are there any news about a possible RSS/Atom feed implementation? I think for the beginning a simple feed listing any new article including it's title (not the content) would be enough.

Rick G got a reaction from PaulAffinity in Introducing... Affinity Spotlight
I just had an idea! Why don't the posts about the failings of designer GO INTO THE DESIGNER FORUM (or Designer beta as appropriate)? Search first to see if anyone has already pointed out the issue and add to it. If not then create an issue that others can verify and support
Dominik was just letting you know that it was different people working on Spotlight, marketing people
So get your issues into the correct forums so they can be addressed

Helped my neighbor pick out color for his house using AP. Did some testing on interior color as well and works great!

Rick G reacted to MEB in How to create lightning circles?
Hi adrianbblk,
Welcome to Affinity Forums
The light effect can easily be achieved with an elliptical gradient as a fill (from light yellow to a darkest yellow tone) and with an Outer Glow Layer Effect. Check the circle in the attached file. Let me know if you still have trouble.

Rick G reacted to Stephen_H in My Adobe resignation. Anyone else packed it in with them?
Well people, I have done it. I've cancelled my Adobe CC subscription. Here's the proof. Anyone else packed it in with them?
(It's a bit off topic, but I can't find a general/misc category for posting my own news.)

Rick G reacted to MEB in need blend shape tools and any vertex point conver in curve
Hi Dhaval Panchal,
Welcome to Affinity Forums
Check the Corner Tool to round corners. You can select more than one node and apply the rounding to all at once.
There's no blend shape tool in Designer at this point. It's already on Affinity Designer roadmap as Replicate/Blend but i don't know the scope of it's functionality yet.
You may want to take a look at the Power Duplicate functionality for a few things. I know it's far from being the same.

Rick G reacted to Mark Ingram in New and Slow
How long does it take? What is your operating system? What is your CPU? Where are you loading the image from (SSD, HDD, network)?
I'm not sure why you are threatening us with informing your Facebook group of 25,000 people, if you aren't happy with your purchase, you can always request a refund. But let's try to work out what the problem is first of all.

Rick G reacted to John Rostron in Cygnets with Affinity Photo
Nice to see some Photo work with information about the process. Were there actually "thousands of bits of floating rubbish on the surface of the water"? Did you have to inpaint them individually?

Cygnets shot on my trusty old a6000.
Basic adjustments with Capture One. Affinity Photo inpainting brush used to get rid of the thousands of bits of floating rubbish on the surface of the water. HSL adjustment tool used to selectively change the colours in the water to make it look nicer.

Thanks all, this will be fixed in the next build.

Also 1920 x 1080 and on first use I see the same problem.
But, if I "correct" the error, close the program and re-open, the adjustments window now appears correct, everything visible.

Rick G reacted to Stephen_H in Affinity Publisher - Sneak Preview
There's so much secrecy and uncertainty around Publisher, that perhaps Affinity needs a forum just for rumors?
(Apple has entire websites for them)
