I will be happy to find out from the developers for you but I would guess that we want to give the users a choice as to what is deleted when they rasterise a layer. 

The direct answer is that rasterizing no longer gets rid of the area outside of the canvas and i a know issue that will be fixed in the next beta.
I have had the same issue with other tools and that was the answer
Unlock the layer after rasterizing and move it around, you will see that the data is still there

Rick looking at your other posts today it looks like you've been using the Edit In Photo/Designer options. Can you confirm that when the application refuses to close down it was opened via this method? As my above posts state, this is a known issue that is with development to be fixed.

i was slow on the uptake I guess. That is the ONLY thing I had done differently yesterday when I got that error. I was testing something for someone else

After reading in the Designer beta forum ... the only thing I did differently was to try to load something into photo from designer and apparently that is the known issue
Issue then is identified

Hi Sullyman, there is a known issue that causes the application to not close down if you've used the Edit in Photo/Designer option. This should be fixed in the next release.

It is also worth bearing in mind that there is a known issue (fixed in the next build) that using Edit in Designer/Photo will cause this to appear. Had you previously done this?

Mine is jumping too. Release doesn't do this so I'm putting this down to the fact this is a new crop tool. I'll pass it on—thanks!

It appears fixed for me. I opened a new document hit pixel mode and voilà no crash

This should be fixed in the next build. We're just doing some internal testing on it  

The procedural textures are a neat idea but they seem very unusable unless you have a math degree. The same was true with the equations filter. Perhaps making some sort of user friendly interface would increase their usage and make them more useful? Or at least substantial documentation with lots of examples.

I absolutely agree we should back this up with some solid documentation. It is a more advanced feature that has great potential and it would be nice if everyone who wanted to could take advantage of it.
I will pass your feedback on and find out what type of documentation we're going to supply with it  

I can confirm that here. It seems like it ignores the ALT key, or for that matter all except the arrow keys. It moves the document up, down, right or left.
