We were considering starting a 2.4 beta yesterday, but we have decided to add & test a few more changes before we start, so it will be in the new year but contain more.
I can see why you might think that but the Serif info bot post quoted above is actually suggesting that the localisation/translations will not be included in for new features and fixes until later in the beta and we did not want you saying that the feature was still in English when the beta started. The fix is that Find and replace field names are now capable of localisation. It was not actually not hinting at the beta start date at all 😜

It depends on the selected content in the Layers panel:
"Pixel" type of layers/objects are not affected by the option. Image, vector and text layers/objects are.

You cannot "Save As" to get anything except an Affinity file (.afdesign, .afphoto, .afpub) and this is the way it has always been.
You need to use Export, or (if you Opened a JPG file) you can use Save (but not Save As).

Good catch, I've replicated and logged this issue with the developers.
As a workaround, unticking 'Apply to all' appears to retain any custom shortcut assignments in the blend mode category.

I have 4 Files Opened and not opening any new ones as there is nothing in the top right corner/I only opened those 4

 
One of them is stuck like this, and the images(Linked Document from "Packaging--v2-4") are cropped/not rendered fully after updating the file in "Packaging--v2-4", I can move / do things with them as if they were rendered fully though

The source "Packaging--v2-4" which is a layout of artboards with linked PDF files in them to look the same, embedding the PDFs makes them render fully without any issues, but changing them to Linked causes it to go back to the same way it was before embedding them and takes significantly longer for them to actually render in (only in "Packaging--v2-4", the "Atlas_Box-Small" does not render in fully)

Better state the version and which program and where you are trying to export to.

That works great in the color picker but it is not available in the HSL adjustment

If you start Task Manager, you can expand the entry for Affinity Designer 2, right-click on the first expanded entry, and choose Create Dump File.

You’re very clearly confusing frustration for aggression. Please don’t. 
How many years has it been now that Affinity has deliberately not offered/included a basic lens flare tool that other software has as a built in fundamental? Since day 1.
It would be nice if you could offer help as opposed to legalistic judgement. Many thanks. 
Continued requests (in the nicest way possible) are the hope for this absolutely ESSENTIAL feature in their photo-editing software that may one day find its way there... When they are blatantly ignored, that simply raises levels of frustration. After all Affinity asks it’s community to make software requests to improve the usability of the software. Am I seriously the only one who thinks this should be included under basic tools like EVERY other photo editing software out there? There’s a reason they all have it - and don’t use brushes to skirt it. 
Pretty please Affinity, add in a Lens Flare Tool for us all to enjoy.. Please.

Many thanks for providing detail, i've replicated your issue on Windows and it has now been logged with the developers. 🙂

I too have recurring crashes of Photo 2.1. The program all of a sudden just disappears with all not saved changes lost. Sometimes a simple click on a menu item is enough to crash the program.
For instance: I often work with placed (linked) images with approx 6000x5000 Pixels, I'm adding adding a mask and a level adjustment. I save and close the file and then when I try to create a new file for the next project somewhere in the process the program crashes.
My workaround is to close Photo and restart it for a new project and save frequently.
I think (but I'm not sure) that the problem started after updating Photo from 2.0 to 2.1. I changed nothing else on my PC

I will hold on any big fixes as others are having screen refresh problems and my computer is less than a year old. I keep all it's drivers up to date

I need to update this as I have changed my cameras since then. The pear tree remains, however, occupied.

The problem was in the bottom mask. Turn that off and the picture shows correctly in Affinity. That is a renamed file that has layers which JPG files do not
So other simple viewers do not see the layers but Affinity does

I don't know that Affinity does not have an issue. But on my vast intricate network of 2 machines, I got away with it.
Windows networking is notoriously quirky and it smells like a networking issue ... but that is just an off hand shot in the dark

Interesting how there are masks in a JPEG file. Turn them off.

 

You might also Zip the image before uploading it, as the forum software might make some changes to it otherwise.

Could you attach an afdesign file with with an example of your dashed pattern?  Just we do have a couple of open bug reports with the dashed pattern and PDF Export, so would be good to confirm you haven't found a new issue that we don't know and i may also be able to give you a workaround  

Wait, PDF cannot represent some content? That's new to me. My understanding is that PDF can display whatever could be sent to a printer. And if balanced dash patterns cannot be printed either, I'll make sure to disable them all again in my files and not use them again.
I don't know anything about what PDF knows about dash patterns. But if PDF doesn't support any feature, it simply needs to be represented at a lower level as in other cases, i.e. all individual dash segments as separate items. Isn't that the case already? A PDF document must be fixed and look exactly the same everywhere, after all. Any kind of interpretation is a danger to that.

You are aware that the Adjustment layers and Live Filter layers have their own built in masks? Could it be that the Adjustment layer's mask is competing with the Layer mask you applied?

Have you tried Clipping your texture image inside the text, without rasterizing the text? Then applying the Levels Adjustment to the clipped texture?

It is frustrating. I have gotten into the habit of using the move tool with a click and drag to select text frames.
Here is a tip. Build your three text frames using one text frame. Select the letters OF and make them a smaller size using the Character Panel and then shift the baseline for them up. This way you have one frame with the three words.

Hi there!
While 1.10.x and 2.0.4 do work fine at my end with setting custom dpi to anything but 100/125/150/175%, the new 2.1.0 doesn't. That is a step backward.
The Affinity apps do start despite having set Windows 10 to a custom dpi value, but the moment I want to call the colour dialogue in Affinity the apps crash without any warning or any crash report. The are also reports here in the forum that it does happen with the gradient tool, too.
Would be highly appreciated if this regression could be fixed with the next version/update.
