  1. Hi Patrick Connor, thanks very much. yes, good question! my plan is to print it out onto a large piece of paper at one of those high-quality printer shops, and then put the finished document on the wall as decoration. ideally, i expect the whole thing to be approx. 2 by 1 metres. is it possible to print directly from affinity onto a printer or would i have to convert the document into another template that is printable? also im wondering if this 2x1 metre size is possible. it's interesting what you say about resolution issues in fact. i was actually wondering if the finished print out would have these. is a 2 by 1 metre document even possible to do on affinity? if it is not, i thought it might have implications for image resolution. what is the largest in-real-life document that affinity can print out 1:1 so i wouldnt have to scale up the images? assuming 2x1 metres is too big, perhaps i should divide the village into sections and 'jigsaw' it all together at the end? ((i hadnt considered maintaining the finished document digitally but that might not be a bad idea (for some as yet unknown reason!). if i did this however, you are saying that 'export resolution problems' could occur. do you mean that, and please excuse my convoluted way of putting it, do you mean that there is a cost, so to speak, in translation between affinity software and elsewhere on the cloud? i.e. what looks perfect in affinity software might not look so perfect within the software of other online storage places?)) cheers!
  2. hello affinity forum. thanks for any help you can give me and any time you take in doing so. my question is whether affinity is suitable for the kind of document i want to create. i know i could research it myself further on this very site but im not the sharpest knife in the drawer (lol!) and also my eyes hurt from reading about other image-use software, none of which seemed to be perfect (if i understood them correctly). what i want to do is basically upload multiple (100ish) images of various sizes and shapes onto one document and then fit them together in any way i see fit. i'll tell you exactly what i want to do to make it easier to understand. i want the document to be the village i live in and the images overlaid upon the document will be photos of all the houses. i want to therefore upload the photos and images (of the houses) onto the document and then move them around and put them on the document relative to where they are in the village. therefore some images would be next to each other with no gaps between images because the houses are joined together. but then on the document there will be a large space all the way to the next image of the next house because in real life that house is say half a mile away. it's like a collage but not quite, you might say. ive been looking for suitable apps but none are perfect because they are mostly fixed-template collages in which a fixed amount of photos and images slot into files and symetrical grids with the same space apart. i want to create something similar to a collage but without a fixed template. i want spaces between images if i want and then suddenly no spaces between others. i want to crop and resize images to different sizes and shapes if i want to. i wasnt seeming to get much luck with other software but then i found affinity which had a forum so ... here i am. thanks again. i appreciate any time you take with the help. if i am completely barking up the wrong tree, a heads-up about which software i might need would be appreciated too.
