    Thank you @Murfee and @Joachim_L. That really works in Publisher. For some reason I thought the export dialog is identical throughout the apps. For now I still use Designer to create PDF's. It would be nice if they've ported this feature to Designer too.

    Hi, does anyone have a working solution to this? Apparently you can't select your pages in the export dialog, there are two options. All pages or individual pages, you can't select multiple pages. The "Don't export layers hidden by Export Persona", does something else.

    Hello, Great work on the new Designer / Photo release @affinity! I have a bug in Designer stable and beta (1.7.1.404), when I try to open / activate the Brushes Panel the app crashes instantaneously. I had this problem earlier too, but was relieved when I saw it fixed in the previous release (1.7.0.367). Now it's back. I had the same problem with Photo too. Now Photo won't launch at all (since the Brush panel is open by default I think, so resetting the Studio does not help). Yes, I tried removing all third party brushes, and as I said previous release worked without any problems. Any help is appreciated. (How do I roll back my active Designer / Photo instance to an earlier version? Simply uninstall and reinstall using the previous installer?) Thanks!

    Exactly @Lionel Seidman, what concerns us is more the exported result, not how it looks in the editor (it would be good, that it looked nice there too, without transparent seams). Please pick up this issue, and try to come up with a solution.

    Awesome v1.7 is out, but the problem is still present. Please fix this.

    V1.7 is amazing! ... but I would like to raise awareness of this issue. It's still not fixed and is quite annoying. Every once in a while I have a project that would need more precision. This is not a problem that occurs in every vector design app as someone stated before. It might appear in some others as well, but the most used vector design apps don't have this problem. Please fix this. The workarounds are not good enough. Keep up the good work @affinity!

    As far as I know, the background color always "shines through" on similar cases. Ie. having perfectly aligned shapes, with the end nodes aligned to the same exact location (with snapping), you still see a white line (or dark, depending on your background) at the area of contact. It's a pretty ugly thing and always needs workarounds. Would be nice if @serif would fix it.

    +1 I miss that feature... Doing it all the time manually is timeconsuming...

    Yes, I know about that @reglico, but we're trying to replicate some kind of "shape builder" functionality, and if we divide multiple shapes with a stroke that has been converted to curves, we won't be able to merge them with boolean operations afterwards, because the width of the stroke will make a gap between the parts... So, as a first step it would be nice to be able to "divide" shapes using strokes. Edit: Most of the functionality is already present, we would need some advanced selection features (see second part of the inkscape video): Once that selection feature is implemented it would be "nice to have" that the selected shapes would be somehow highlighted, but if we'll get the advanced selection feature, that'll be almost enough

    +1 This would save a lot of time when creating complex shapes! I can live with the existing tools too, but when we need to divide a shape into multiple different shapes, using something similar as mentioned above, would be really helpful. Alternately, using lines as dividers would also help. Right now you can make boolean operations only using shapes, not with shapes + lines (or curves without closed ends). This would be a big steps towards the perfect shape building tool.

    That's the exact same problem I had / have, just with the A4 print size. Either of the provided print templates convert to whole pixel units unfortunately. What I do in such a case is, I create an artboard with a print template (A4, Letter, etc), then I change the document units to pixels, change any values to whole numbers (coordinates and sizes), and that's it. The document will have virtually the same physical size. Any printshop should accept them.... but this is still a workaround. In your case you can create the artboard in the desired size in inch or other units, and before exporting, just switch to pixel units and correct the numbers. I'm not sure why can't be this done automatically during the export, but it would be great if we could just take care of the design work. In an ideal world we would not have to deal with pixel peeping / tweaking in a VECTOR app...

    @RGerhart I complained about this too. There's no fix, there are only workarounds... You need to have your artboards positioned at whole pixel coordinates and they need to have whole pixel sizes. This "fixes" the issue. Serif, we still need a real fix to this. Thanks.

    Sorry for resurrecting this topic, but now it's more relevant than ever. I think this is a great idea, so anyone who is an Extensis customer or is thinking about purchasing Suitcase Fusion, please contact them: https://www.extensis.com/contact/ and let them know that we really need font auto activation for Affinity Designer / Photo / Publisher (and the rest that comes). Using Application Sets is not a viable option. I just did that. Let's create some momentum.

    AD has an option now to disable the conversion of texts to outlines in EPS format, but it has a strange behavior on Windows, when you uncheck it, still converts every text field to outlines. If you uncheck the "Convert texts to outlines" and click away then back to the EPS format settings in Export persona, you can see that the setting remains checked... or is it just me?

    That's promising. If there's anyone who succeeded with the addition of extra dictionaries to the spell checker, please let us know. How did you do it?

    Sorry to resurrect this thread, but can't seem to find another related post. So... how do you add other Dictionaries / Language packs to Designer? (I'm talking about extra languages, that are not present on that dropdown in the language selector).

    No problem. Sometimes it did not work instantaneously (I did this with the Beta too), maybe it needs a full system restart to fix the issue. Anyways, this is just a temporary fix, I think this needs to be fixed at the software level.
