  1. I get the draw lag on my old Aiptek graphics tablet too. This draw lag does not happen in Paint, Paint.net, Gimp or Photoshop. So the Affinity guys are doing something different for tablets.
  2. I just found it odd. In Photoshop it will leave a blob no matter how long you hold down the left mouse button before moving it. Also in affinity it is really hard to build up a blob of colour under the brush if you don't move it. If you click multiple times in the same place then nothing happens at all. Not deal breakers by any means but just odd behaviour. AP is still an absolutely superb piece of software.
  3. I don't know if it is a bug but if you are using the paint tool and you press down the left mouse button to draw but don't move the mouse it will not draw anything if you hold the button down for more than about 1/4 second before releasing it. It just seems really odd to me. Is there a reason for this?
  4. 200 fixes is not a lot to make a list. A decent programming team will be using bug tracking software and will be able to generate a list in seconds.
  5. The curve nodes can now be deleted by right clicking on them But there are more problems with the curve nodes. The cursor turns into a cross when it is in range of a node. So you think you can move it. But if you are outside the circle of the node graphic it creates a new node. It should always select the node if it has changed into a cross. Also when you do click a node to move it the node snaps to the cursor position. This moves the node from it's original position even if you have not moved the mouse. It messes up fine adjustments. It should not snap. It should not move at all until you move the mouse and then the mouse vector should be added to the node position so it only moves from it's current position. I think you need someone in quality control. This is really basic stuff.
  6. All lovely. The top two are especially beautiful. The reflections in the second one are really cool. What a nice start to my Saturday morning. Cheers Kodiak.
  7. Great pic. I agree with Aeros4 about the shadow. though I would remove it completely.
  8. It isn't a killer bug but it just looks scrappy. As a software developer of over 30 years myself I know that perceived quality is very important. I can see the problem. You have split the gamma from the levels to give more control. Where as Photoshop has them as a single bar where the gamma scales with the black/white sliders. I would also not allow the black and white sliders to move past each other as you get weird negative effects of the image. I actually think that the design of levels adjustment system you have employed is fundamentally wrong. The design does not reflect what people expect from a levels adjustment. Photoshop does it the way it does for a reason.
  9. When bringing down the white level on the levels adjuster the screen gets whiter until the value reaches zero - then the screen becomes pitch black. is this correct? I would have thought it should become pure white.
  10. I like to see before and after images but above all I love to see the finished work. I would much rather come to the forum and see those lovely images than not. :)
  11. Nice tutorial. I like that you take your time to show the actions you do in full. :)
  12. Gorgeous. Looks like you actually got the birds to pose :)
  13. WOW. What a stunning image. Just lovely. :)
  14. Comment away. I am happy to receive suggestions. :)
  15. Really nice. I am going to have to have a go at this. I just have to wait for it to snow!
  16. Thanks Kodiak. I took you advice on trying to even the skin tones and i think it made a really big difference. It really is quite tricky to do it without the skin looking like plastic but I got there in the end. I was in two minds about the hair but when I showed my wife she commented on how nice the hair was!. She wished she could have it that rich and shiny. So I left it. You really cannot underestimate the vanity of women :) She also noticed that I'd removed the splodge of bird poo from the bench on the bottom left. She loves the picture and wants a print of it for the living room. Good on her though, she is perfectly happy with me showing the before and after images. I wouldn't dare post them without permission :)
  17. Retouching an image of my wife with Affinity Photo. The aim is not to go too far but to go far enough to still be believable. Loving AP. Getting the hang of it now. Usual tools used. But mainly frequency seperation, inpainting and blemish removal.
