    Hi, you can also do it this way;

First I would select the sky, (in the picture, not in the mask) then refine the selection (you will se the overlay).
Then you can add the filter and it will be added just to the sky. No need to paint on the mask if you have a good selection.

    Hi Jacques,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Are you using the filter's built-in mask for this?
The Quick Mask only lets you create/edit selections. It doesn't let you see masks as overlays unless you refine the Mask using the Layer ▸ Refine Mask command which i don't think is what you are looking for.
Can you post a screenshot of you layer structure?

    artofmtl,
Are you referring to masking? If so, click the Quick Mask button at the top (under the menubar).

    Hope that helps.

    Hi artofmtl,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Affinity Photo never touches the RAW file. When you click Develop all changes you have made are applied/baked to/in the image which is then moved to Photo Persona. You have to save the file there as an .afphoto file or export it in other format to keep the changes you have made in Develop Persona (and Photo Persona if you also have made changes there).

In the Preferences. Output profile in Develop should follow the same general working profile settings, but you can override it there if you have specific need to some other profile.

I you shoot Adobe RGB JPEGs choose Adobe RGB for working profile.

Your monitor has calibrated/profiled Dell profile which works in system level and there is no need to assign it in app level. (Or so I suppose this goes in windows side too.)

sRGB when talking about your monitor means just the colour gamut your monitor is capable of, not actual profile.

    Hi Artofmtl
if you have loaded Affinity on the SSD (as I have too), you can locate the images on any HD. I located mine on a separate mechanical drive (MD) of 640Gb. When you use Open in Affinity navigate to and find the mechanical drive and file (within a folder as appropriate) you want to open and edit. When you use Open again it will default to open files on the MD.
    Cheers P
