  1. Hi Sean, tonight I've try again with three images and it worked without any problems. I don't know why I've received the error message yesterday and what I was doing wrong but tonight it worked. I am sorry for the inconvenience but I have uploaded the files anyway and here's what I did tonight. Don't pay attention in the subject of the images because they were used just to follow the video. 1st I've open my 3 images (Artofmtl_0095.dng, Artofmtl_0566.dng and Artofmtl_0004.NEF) I want to clone from Artofmtl_0004.NEF to Artofmtl_0095.dng and from Artofmtl_0566.dng to Artofmtl_0095.dng. I selected the image on which I want to clone from Artofmtl_0004.NEF. I selected / View / Studio / Sources. I click on add New Source and the image appears in the sources panel. I selected the Clone Brush tool. Then I double click on the chosen Global Source, now the cursor change so you can select the source. I decided to select a part of the image at the bottom left. I apply just one click on the part of the image to clone and you can see a circle on the image in the sources panel. Then I've move over to the Artofmtl_0095.dng image. I selected the Clone Brush tool. In the sources panel I can see the image from Artofmtl_0004.NEF. Then I click once on the image in the Sources Panel and the clone source appeared. I increased the brush size and set the hardness at zero. Then I click and start dragging and bring the rock from Artofmtl_0004.NEF on the Artofmtl_0095.dng. So far everything works fine. Now I've move to the Artofmtl_0566.dng image and decided what I wanted to clone on the Artofmtl_0095.dng. I click on add New Source and the image appears in the sources panel. I selected the Clone Brush tool. Then I double click on the chosen Global Source, now the cursor change so you can select the source. I decided to select a part of the image at the bottom right. I apply just one click on the part of the image to clone and you can see a circle on the image in the sources panel. Then I've move over to the Artofmtl_0095.dng image. The Clone Brush tool was already selected. In the sources panel I click once on the new source Artofmtl_0566.dng and I can see the new clone source. Then I click and start dragging and bring the tree from Artofmtl_0566.dng on the Artofmtl_0095.dng. Everything works fine. Then to make sure it worked, I went back to the image Artofmtl_0004.NEF. Added a New source. I selected the Clone Brush tool. Then I double click on the new Global Source, now the cursor change so you can select the source. Then I apply just one click on the part of the image to clone and you can see a circle on the image in the sources panel. Then I've move over to the Artofmtl_0095.dng image. I selected the Clone Brush tool. In the sources panel I can see the new source from Artofmtl_0004.NEF. Then I click on the image in the Sources Panel and the clone source appeared. I started cloning with no problems. So far everything works fine. I must have done something wrong yesterday. Thank you for your help and if I receive this message again I will contact the good support of Serif. Jacques
  2. The files that I am using are more than 25mg each, I don't know if it is allowed to upload them. Tonight I will repeat the exercise and take some notes as when I get the crash. Thanks
  3. Hi, I was following the video https://player.vimeo.com/video/192599318/and when I was cloning from different images following the same steps in the video I've receive 2 errors messages. After those messages I've retry and still did not work. I've rebooted my PC and still the same messages. Thank you
  4. I think that you should ask chris about it because I don't have enough experience to explain it to you.
  5. I ask the same question about my filter layes changing for a pixel layer. You can find the answer at this link. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/34949-ap-15154-windows-filter-layers-changing-to-pixel-layer-with-a-psd-file/
  6. Hi, Maybe it is a stupid question but can somebody explain to me the difference between adding a New Pixel Layer and Duplicating the original Background. For example in one of the videos of Affinity Photo - Non-Destructive Dodge & Burn - https://player.vimeo.com/video/155533670/they show to burn and dodge non destructively by adding a new pixel layer. This video is just an example but many times I saw in the different videos the same principle. By duplicating the background layer instead of adding a new pixel layer I am achieving the same thing? Thank you
  7. Hi, tonight I added a Levels Adjustment and choose LAB for color mode. Then if I select Lightness and move the Black Level slider to the right Lightness comes back to Master. The same thing happens with the White Level. If I select AOpponent or BOpponent the same thing happens. It was not like this before the upgrade to 1.5.1.54. Thanks
  8. Hi, at the moment I have the AP for Windows 1.5.0.45. By installing the last update 1.5.1, is it removing 1.5.0.45 version or only updating it? Thank you
  9. Hi, when I select images for a New Focus Merge and I want to remove a photo from the list the Button Remove does not work. Nothing happens, is it a known problem Thank you
  10. Hi, when you start Affinity Photo the Welcome screen appears and you can download the picture Lone Shine so you can see what the photographer did to enhance the picture. I really like the picture but it is hard for me as a new user of Affinity to really see what the person did. Do you think it would be possible for the photographer to make a video out of it. I know it is not easy but it would be great for me and for other users. Thank you Jacques
  11. I am using Affinity for Windows. I am watching the video https://player.vimeo.com/video/192599318/On Clone sources and it is not working for me. When I select the image from which I want to clone from and show the Sources panel and click on Add Global source nothing happens. If I select the Clone Tool first then the Global source (image from which I want to clone from) appears in the Sources panel without having to add a source. If I go back to the image that I want to clone on it and select the Clone Tool I can see the Global source from the second image. Now if I go on back the second image and double click the global source nothing happens, the cursor does not change to a + sign so I can select the source. If I use Alt-Click, the cursor changes to a arrow pointer and if I click on the image to select an area, I keep receiving the message "You must DOUBLECLICK the Global source in the sources panel to set a source point before trying to clone". I don' understand what I am doing wrong. Thanks
  12. Don't worry about the delay. Your help is most welcome since I am new to AP and never use PS before. So the learning curve is a little bit high but I love AP. Thank you for your explanations and the same time explaining what the Foreground and Background button are doing.
  13. Hi Meb, I just realized that it was my mistake when using the Refine Mask. I just retry by selecting Refine Mask on my mask and now it is working. I can now paint on the picture. My mistake was to click on Toggle Quick Mask while the windows of Refine Mask was Open. Then the windows was closing. Now when I select Refine Mask I can paint on the picture and Refine the Mask. I am sorry for your trouble. Thank you Jacques
  14. Hi Meb, following our email exchange here<s what I did with Affinity Photo for Windows. For me this is an exercise to see how I can remove some effects of a filter by using a New Live Filter Layer using a Denoise only on the sky. First I went into Develop Persona to work on the Raw file file a little bit. Second I went into Tone Mapping Persona to give more contrast and save the picture as a afphoto and exported the image BeforeTestDenoise_0153.jpg. You can see the noise on the sky. From the result and following my idea of an exercise I want to reduce the noise in the sky but only the sky. First test I made a selection of the sky with the Selection Brush Tool. Then I went into Layer and select Duplicate to duplicate the selection. I added the New Live Filter Layer Denoise filter as a Mask to the Selection Layer and adjusted the filter. What I want to do works, but if I click on Quick Mask everything is red. But tonight I've right on the mask and selected Refine Mask and I can the see sky as blue and the rest as red in the Refine tool. Then if I click apply and click again on the Quick Mask everything is red, I don't see the area that I masked. You can see in the picture TestDenoise_0153_FirstTest.jpg that it is only on the sky. You can look at the Layers panel in FirstTestLayers.jpg. Second test I added a New Live Filter Layer Denoise filter on top of the Background Layer and ajusted the Denoise. Then select Layer and invert on the Denoise filter. Then with the Paint Brush tool I apply the Denoise on the sky and it is working, only the sky is affected. If I click on Quick Mask everything is red and if I put it as a mask everything is red. You can look at the Layers panel in SecondTestLayers.jpg. Third test I added a New Live Filter Layer Denoise filter on top of the Background Layer with no adjustments. I've click on Mask layer to create a mask for the Denoise filter. I then adjusted the Denoise filter. Then I selected the Mask of the Denoise and selected Layer and Invert. I then painted with Paint Brush Tool on the sky and only the sky is affected. But if I click on the Quick mask again it is red, I don<t see the the areas that I painted. You can look at the Layers panel in ThirdTestLayers.jpg. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong so I can see the areas that I painted. Thank you Jacques
  15. Hi Meb, I think that I am using the filter's built-in mask, but I am not sure. Now I am at work so tonight I will post a screen shot and explain what I want to do. Thank you
