  1. Not as far as I know, I think they always stay within the margins. Probably your best bet would be to use horizontal and vertical guides instead. Maybe you could use the column guides to help place them?
  2. It would certainly save time (and disc space) if things like brushes, styles, palettes and assets etc could be installed once and were then available in all three apps.
  3. 1. Windows 10 (with latest updates) 2. Chrome 3. I do have Norton 360 installed which has a firewall, but I've tried disabling it and I still can't sign-in. Files uploaded, as requested. Thanks for your help.
  4. I'm having a problem with all three apps. Similar to above, but saying "Timeout while waiting for registration service "ready" notification". Tried changing the language, makes no difference. APhoto also crashed while trying to register.
  5. You obviously have inside information denied to the rest of us! 😁
  6. Looks like they heard you, Alfred, it's been changed! 😁
  7. To be honest this doesn't seem to be exactly a major problem, spending, say, 2 or 3 seconds deleting a shortcut when you install an app. To make it even quicker just hold shift when you delete the shortcut and you won't need to empty the "trash". 😉
  8. I'm sure there's a better way, (I'm no expert!), but I'd just copy the whole thing, then delete the nodes that I don't want.
  9. Import it into "Macro" not "Library", then "Add to Library". (If you're not sure how, mouse over the small icons at the top of the tab.) (You'll need an image open in order to add the macro to the "Macro" tab.)
  10. (It has been mentioned several times in these forums!) To be honest this seems to be more of an issue with Apple, rather than with Serif, as it applies to all apps purchased from the Apple AppStore. Surely it would be more appropriate to ask Apple for a refund, as their version of APhoto is not working to your satisfaction, rather than asking Serif to give you a free copy of it.
  11. JPGs don't normally have transparency, could you upload the actual JPG?
  12. Personally I would get rid oe the white background first (Filters - Colour - Erase white Paper) Then use the rectangular select tool to select each number, one at a time, then create a new layer (Ctrl+J) Do this for each one (not forgetting to make sure you are selecting on the original image!) Depending on what you want to do, it might be handy to save each number as an Asset, so that you can use them again whenever you want.
  13. https://designforhackers.com/blog/small-caps/ 😉 'Not too sure how many people (other than typographers) would spot the difference, but I suppose that's no reason not to get it right!
  14. It's really just a matter of personal choice. I don't have the workbooks, and have no idea how or why Serif decide what projects to put in which workbook! There are many things that can be done, in different ways, in different apps. I don't think that just because Serif choose not to have a project on a particular subject in a workbook, it means that that app is not suitable for that type of job. 😉 As I said, I prefer to use Publisher for designing book covers (and the interiors), and Photo for editing images that I use on the cover. But that's just my choice, there's no reason why you can't do the whole thing in Photo if you want to, I just find the text layout, bleeds etc easier in Publisher.
  15. That isn't really a "problem", it's just a matter of using the correct setting, as per the reply by Ray S. 😁
  16. A lot (but by no means all) Photoshop Plug-ins do work in Affinity. I don't use Eye Candy myself, but I assume that, as "firstdefence" recommended it, it does . 😀
  17. It is in the main menu! I think the problem is that you either have a small monitor, or the wrong screen resolution. The whole of the Toolbar and Context Toolbar can't fit on the width of your screen, so you have to use the drop down menu on the right in order to see the other options.
  18. "first defence" is referring to a plugin called "Eye Candy" (but it is a bit pricy)! IMHO the Lightening Brushes are good value at $7.
  19. I've done a few book covers and (IMHO) while you can use Photo to design them, Publisher is easier! 😊
