  1. Seems a good idea! It might be handy to have clipart as well as photos. +1
  2. From your example it looks like you are just fading (adding transparency) the picture from one side to the other. If that is what you want to do, just add a mask and add a black/white gradient to the mask. (Or use shades of grey for a subtler effect.) ice_video_20210820-094707.mp4
  3. Just a thought, I can't test this, as I haven't had the problem with saving from Publisher myself. I wonder if it would be possible to use "Open in" Designer or Photo (assuming you have either of the other apps installed) and then save from there. It will save as an .afdesign or .afphoto file but you can then rename it as a .afpub file, as all three apps actually share the same file format.
  4. You don't need to clutter the screen. The presets you create yourself are on a different screen to the default ones.
  5. The quickest/easiest way to do this is to apply an HSL adjustment in Photo. ice_video_20210818-092846.mp4
  6. Hopefully this may help (obviously you need to be more accurate using the Pen Tool!) ice_video_20210817-124651_edit_0.mp4
  7. One thing to keep in mind is that the Photo and Design personas in Publisher only offer a limited range of functions available in the actual apps. The Studio link idea is great for basic tweaks, but I often find that I need to open the full versions. Only a small thing, but I do also find that it gets a bit confusing having the Photo and Design personas in Publisher with layouts different to the actual apps. (Although I suppose I could just change the layouts when I have a bit of spare time!) 😉
  8. The problem usually seems to be that people want to be able to do perspective transformations on vector objects, without rasterising them in Photo.
  9. In Styles – I think (not at all sure) that you might also get them at Halloween. Cat Shape – "To use the Cat shape tool, you must hold the Shift Key as you open the Shapes pop-up menu. Affinity Cat will be available in the list." (From "Help") Just an aside, but I wonder why some people seem to get the old cat shape in styles and some get the new one!
  10. Of course you could use "Edit in", but that would be a bit slower. Being a bit cynical, perhaps Serif think that having to have Publisher to use Studio Link helps persuade people that it's worth getting, even if they don't really need it. 😉
  11. Not sure if this helps, but normally cropping is non destructive (basically the area outside the crop is hidden rather than removed). If you rasterise the cropped image it will make the crop permanent.
  12. I'm not saying your request is unnecessary or that it shouldn't be implemented. But I don't need a lecture on how useless something is, when I was just sharing a way to easily crop to a selection (As Komatös suggested). If anyone wants a macro to do this it is easy to do it themselves, I just thought I could save them time by posting the one I use. If you want to crop to the outer edges of several selections, as per Peter's video, I don't really see why you would bother to make several selections, rather than just making a selection around the whole area. Obviously, if you want to "crop" to a non rectangular shape you will end up with a transparent background and there are other ways of achieving the same result. I'm obviously missing something, so I don't think it's worth revisiting this thread. I hope Serif will implement your request. 🙂
  13. Sorry, I just thought it might be useful sometimes, for some people. But you're obviously upset by my sharing it, so I'll gladly remove my post!
  14. Hi @Cooper Welcome to the forums. If you bought it from the Affinity store you can log in to your account and it will be listed there.
  15. Thanks for that @MEB really useful. I tend to forget about using live filters, rather than just applying a normal filter. (Just my age I suppose! 😁)
  16. Nothing to do with anything, other than it's Friday the 13th and the cat is back! One of the problems working from home!
  17. Are you sure the problem is not with you accidentally pressing the wrong keys? (I know I do it all the time!) 😁
  18. It isn't the only way! On the odd occasions I've needed to do this, I convert the text to curves and place them how I want them. (Not very practical for large amounts of text.) Another way is to type the text into a text box, then alter the shape of the box so that it is only one letter wide. (I'm not sure if this always works with all fonts.) I think there's also a way using columns or a single cell table. Of course it would be much easier if Serif actually added a vertical text option! 😉
  19. The big problem for me with the Blur Tool is that the opacity setting doesn't work (it never has!). So the only way to adjust the amount of blur is by using the flow setting which isn't ideal. Sometimes I want to give just a light touch of blur and I find the best way is to add Gaussian Blur to a duplicate layer, then use a mask to add it where I want and adjust the amount of blur. It would be really nice if the Blur Tool worked properly. (FWIW - The Sharpen Tool also seems pretty useless!)
  20. Going on comments above, it would seem that Serif are working on APub for iPad, but there is no eta for it's release.
  21. Sorry my post was of no help. To be honest your original post of "MULTIPLE DROP SHADOWS" – "Let me add many of them" didn't really give much information about exactly what you wanted to achieve! 😁
  22. Add the Drop Shadow to the object on a layer. Group the layer (you can group a single layer). Add another Drop Shadow to the group, Repeat ad infinitum!
