  1. I seem to remember that this has been raised before and is "by design" for compatibility. (Although you can't add a vector brush stroke in Photo, you can change a stroke (originally made in Designer) to a "normal" stroke, then go back to the vector stroke using this option in Photo.)
  2. If you don't have the original you could try using a median blur, then sharpen (High Pass should work well). To get rid of the purple text, convert to B&W, use the Clone and Inpaint tools to tidy up as many marks etc as possible, then add slight Clarity sharpening. Finally add a Recolour and/or Lens filter adjustment to restore the colour. (Playing around with Levels adjustments might also help.) (This is by no means a definitive way to tidy up the picture, but, hopefully, it may be a starting point for you. I'm sure other people will have other ways of doing it.)
  3. Software that doesn't work properly. As in, "DAM this ***** software"! (Sorry – I couldn't resist it.)😁
  4. Duplicate the text layer. On the lower layer make the text the same colour as the outline/stroke and set the outline/stroke how you want. You can now move/angle the text and outline/stroke independently.
  5. Another way: Use the Segment Tool instead. Duplicate. Rotate one through 180 deg, then adjust the gap between the two to whatever you want. (You simply create two segments to start with, which is the same as doing it in the OP. If you want to end up with just one shape, add the two segments together.)
  6. As GarryP said above: "When you export, have you tried removing the extra “f” from the filename before you press the Save button?" (I do find it a bit odd that in the export dialogue it has an option of "JPEG", but actually adds the extension as "JPG". As a three character extension is much more common than four, I wonder why "TIF" isn't the default, with the option to add an extra "F" if you want it?)
  7. Considering the apparent problems with the Apple and Microsoft stores' versions, (both with the initial purchase and when using the products – going on many posts in the forums,) wouldn't it be easier to scrap selling via these stores and only sell via the Serif/Affinity store? I would have thought that anyone who wanted to buy the apps would still do so, directly from Serif, if that was the only option available.
  8. Question: "Is Affinity dead?" Answer: " ... no not dead." Seems a pretty "concrete" answer to me!
  9. Use the Pixel Persona, Adjustments - Invert. (If the white is a bit "muddy", try using a Levels adjustment first, to get a solid black on a pure while background.)
  10. Going on the first post, Gladdy77 is asking about AD and APub. Apparently only APhoto was purchased directly from Serif!
  11. Maybe it would be easier if Serif went back to selling their software on a CD and did not use downloads at all? 🙃
  12. I suppose it's a matter of personal choice/circumstances, but there are degrees in everything. I've been using the old, free, version of the NIK Collection for quite a while. I find it useful and would not like to have to do without it. But I would not want to have to fork out around the same amount (£135) for a single AP plugin, as I paid for the whole set of Affinity apps! If the OP is happy with the version he has been using, I don't see a problem with putting a little effort into finding a way to continue to do so. 😉
  13. If you don't have any of your own photos you can use, I'd suggest checking for something suitable using the Stock Panel in AP.
  14. Templates you make yourself are certainly useful, for example for any publication that needs the content to be updated regularly, but I'm not sure that most professionals consider it essential to have half the work done for them by someone else! The templates available from Affinity, along with the samples, are certainly interesting as inspiration, but why would I want to use complete layouts that someone else designed, and is probably also being used by lots of other people? I would have thought it more likely for "hobbyists" to use readymade templates, while most professionals would prefer to use their own designs, not someone else's!
  15. If the splash screen was the only thing I could find to complain about, with any piece of software, I'd be very happy! 😄
  16. As I understand it, it has nothing to do with how to do anything. Intuos5 just wants the Move Tool to have the same options as the Node Tool so that he doesn't have to go to the trouble of hitting a key to change tools! 🙄
  17. Assuming you mean text in a text frame, use the text frame tab to set a background colour. If you don't see the text frame tab, go to View - Studio and enable it there.
  18. You said you only have the trial version. You would only have a valid product key if you had purchased the software, so, where did you get the product key that you are entering? Have you used the app at all? The free trial only runs for ten consecutive days from when you first open it.
  19. FWIW - They stitch perfectly for me with APhoto (on Windows). But the stitching fails with Microsoft ICE and with Scan-n-Stitch!
  20. That's because the original post in this thread was about the free Google version, (which is still available: https://archive.org/details/nikcollection-full-1.2.11).
