  1. Unfortunately your attached image is not showing, so I'm not sure what you mean by "Word codes", or what it has to do with "Starting new chapters", could you explain a little more about the problem?
  2. No, the apps are installed on your computer, so you don't need to be online to use them. (Unless, of course, you want to download anything to use in your projects, such as items from the Stock Panel.)
  3. This is not a "bug". It is not what White Balance is supposed to do! White Balance gets rid of colour casts. it does not replace other colours with white, nor does it affect the "exposure". The background appears to be grey, but I think it's just a bit underexposed. If so you just need to adjust the exposure/levels etc to make it white. EDIT: This is with a levels adjustment:
  4. That's hardly surprising, as it was developed by Microsoft! Obviously they would use it in their own software. 😉
  5. This was in reply to the statement "Photoshop does the job", and trying to make the point that paying for Photoshop, just to get an extra export format, would be just a bit daft! – I'm afraid I do get a bit fed up with the oft repeated idea that anything and everything available in Photoshop should also be in APhoto (for a fraction of the cost)! I actually agree that it would be nice if APhoto could export BMP (and webp,) but the reality is that it doesn't at the moment! In the meantime (if it's that important to you,) you can either pay for another app, like Photoshop, or use a free app, like XNConvert, to convert the file types that APhoto doesn't export to.
  6. If you want to delete a set of brushes you can do so from the "hamburger" menu at the top right of the brushes panel. I don't know what you mean about being "invisible", but if they are vector brushes (although you can import them) they will not show up in the APhoto brushes.
  7. Photoshop also costs considerably more! Is the slight inconvenience of using a third party app. (such as XNConvert) to get BMP files, worth the extra cost?
  8. Well, I suppose you could install the trial on a different computer, using a different email address! But you did say that you "loved" APhoto and wanted to buy it "right away". There have been may improvements and bug fixes in the last year or so, so personally I would suggest buying it now, and just get a refund if you decide you no longer like it!
  9. Hi @Revolen Welcome to the forums. AFAIK there is no way to have more than one free trial for each Affinity app. However, there is a 14 day refund policy, so you could buy it, then return it if you decide you no longer want to carry on using it.
  10. I really don't see why there is a problem! Although part of a suite, all three apps have different capabilities. If you want the shape to have a fill and/or a stroke it is much easier in APub than in the other apps, but it is easy to remove them in APub by using the Text Frame tab (which is not available in the other apps). In APhoto and ADesigner the fill/stroke will disappear when you add text and you have to duplicate the shape in order to display a fill and/or stroke.
  11. Export your project as a PDF, then try printing from your PDF reader.
  12. I'd suggest keeping two versions of the file, an editable version and one that has been optimised for printing.
  13. All you have to do is follow the link from the link you posted! https://frankentoonstudio.com/product/octopus-affinity-designer/ If you're not sure if this is the right pack, just drop them an email.
  14. If we're talking about the Fuji Film Simulations linked to by Pšenda, they are LUTs, not plugins, and can be imported to the LUT Adjustments in APhoto.
  15. Still works for me! Scroll wheel on it's own changes by one unit, +Ctrl in tenths and +Shift in 10s. (AFAIK, This works in all three apps in most boxes with most units except percentages.)
  16. Thanks for this, I'm obviously a bit out of date! I'm now rather puzzled by why some fonts are provided as both .ttf and .otf as it would appear that there is no practical difference between them?
  17. Basically: TTF is older and more widely supported. (EDIT: Having said that, I don't think there are any modern apps that don't support OTF nowadays!) OTF generally has more advanced typesetting features and often includes embellishments like ligatures and alternate characters. Personally, given the choice, I always use OTF.
  18. These stats are for desktops, not tablets! (For tablets Windows has a much lower market share than iOS.)
  19. What Macros? "Use the ctrl/cmd+C and ctrl/cmd+V keyboard shortcuts to copy layers or groups between different Affinity documents". Because Copy and Paste are in the Edit Menu. (Just like in most other software!) ice_video_20220803-091116.mp4
