  1. Ok so not sure if this is a bug... (feel free to move where necessary) I noticed an issue when using the halftone filter and this is regardless of the settings used (in my case I want maximum contrast), when applying a halftone filter to a layer that has been threshold at 99% (thus creating essentially 1-bit raster ie: Black and White pixels) and rasterized (or nesting the layer within a group and applying the halftone to the group), the halftone filter creates what is essentially a blurred halftoned edge. In Photoshop when we are trying to "RIP" halftones at high resolutions for output to film transparencies, we need to halftone our separated plates, usually a greyscale image. During this process we will have "objects" or portions of the image that are solid black and white pixels, no grey edges, to be halftoned like for instance a piece of solid text in which we do not want a "fuzzy" edge. During that process in Photoshop it's bitmap halftone feature will not "add" a blur to the edges of pure black and white areas of the image whereas Affinity's filter does. I would love for the ability to RIP in Affinity and this cannot be done successfully without this issue being "corrected". Here's a quick scenario that you can test with: Create a new document (300 dpi preferably) Create a pure white fill layer Create a vector rectangle that is pure black Add a Threshold adjustment layer above both previous, set to 99% Group all three together -or- raster all three Apply a monochrome halftone with contrast set to 100% Take notice that the edges of the rectangle will now have a halftone applied to them. This does not happen in Photoshop's bitmap halftone. How could we remedy this "issue" or add to the feature set in Affinity for those of us in the screen printing community that desperately would like an Adobe alternative. Attached are two images, the rasterized then threshold'd image that is basically a 1-bit image ( obviously to post on the board it is saved and compress so the edge is fuzzy), and the resulting fuzzy edge halftoned version of the same image. Thanks!
  2. I'd like to suggest a custom, drag and drop shortcut panel. Something that would allow for users to drop in the tools, adjustments or any other quick menu items that they use that are buried in menus. Design wise: something like the quick menu at the bottom for tool settings but maybe located at the top of the interface. Also, I'd love for the current quick settings menu panel to be able to moved to the top of the interface as well.
  3. Hello, I would like to suggest the feature of being able to rasterize multiple layers at once, into a single layer, without having to group them first. I find it faster to select multiple layers and have them all be rasterized into one layer than having to group them first and then rasterize. Now I know that the settings currently allow for multiple layers to be rasterized but they all stay as their own unique layers but I would like to suggest a feature for "Raster to Layer" that allows a hotkey to be assigned for the issue I mentioned above. Thanks and keep up the fantastic work! Looking forward to the update!
  4. Yes, and it's very simple. I you use a document template with guides that helps you build your characters, great, because the export workflow will make it a breeze. Head over to the "Export" persona after you have completed creating your font. (Use the layers studio/panel) Once in the Export persona, you can select all of the characters needed for export and create a "Slice" Once the slices are created, head over to the "Slices" studio/panel and then select (Like you would a layer in the layers panel) and change the "Export Options" to svg. (as well as anything else you'd like to change, like the name, for the export) Once all export options are corrected selected you can hit the "Export Slices" button to the bottom right corner of the Slices studio/panel and you're done.
  5. Hello, I remember several months back (can't find the thread after searching) having a discussion about the Divide blend mode and the idea of using the Apply Image filter and it's equations being used to simulate the missing blend mode. Does anyone remember or have information on performing this within the Apply Image Equations filter? TL:DR I need the RGB Equation of the "Divide" blend mode in equations section of the Apply Image filter. Also, I think it would be cool to create a "formula sheet" or document of sorts for interesting equations. Thanks!
  6. Sorry @D_Redtrooper, hadn't realized you posted a reply. Here's the quick sep's I created from the file. There are plenty of tools to separate in AD and AP respectively, I'm more pushing for the previews and halftone abilities for manual ripping now. The updated beta has some performance enhancements for pulling plates. Ogden_Capture_2_Print_SEPS.afphoto
  7. I would like to suggest the feature of being able to have a brush setting within the custom brush dialog in the texture setting that would allow for the texture to be offset with each stroke. I find over time that lots of textures used for any given brush can have their unique pattern start to appear if the texture is not seamless (and even then you can). I would like to able to have another setting other than "nozzle" or "final" that would allow for random (or custom) rotation or offsetting of the texture applied to the brush, for each stroke laid down. The other issue with the current settings is that without the offsetting of the texture, you can never really "fill in" the texture no matter the level of pressure. This really limits the level of build paintings can receive.
  8. Just a heads up, I consistently get an app crash when using the Paint Mixer brush scaled large (lowest I found was at 600px) using any brush (tested with the default basic set for the vast majority of tests). Not sure if it matters but I always scale my brush with the bracket hotkeys.
  9. I didn't want to post the same thing in both categories so here goes... When ever I'm using both AD Beta and AP Beta and move a document over to the other to use it's features (which sometimes crashes), later when trying to close either application I get the error message with something along the aligns of "A document is currently opening cannot quit". Totally paraphrasing but you get the idea.
  10. Not sure if this was posted already but in-case it wasn't I would like to request the feature of converting custom created swatches or globals to be converted into spots after the fact. ie: user created a global color without spot to then later be able to change it to a spot. Thanks!
  11. Ok, so not sure if this belongs here but it only happens in the beta so.... The issue is that once I cut or copy several objects to then, paste inside any given group, paste inside becomes unavailable, won't work in other words. I noticed this does not happen with just one object that is cut or copied.
  12. Just wanted to suggest being able to lock the symmetry feature (Which is great by the way!). I find myself constantly moving it accidentally while sketch. Thanks!
  13. I would like to suggest for the range of Affinity products that have, at least in this example, a slider that make numeric changes, a more refined option to slowly move sliders in smaller increments while holding a modifier key. My example, "Growing / Shrink" , it's dialog's slider doesn't allow for smaller movements causing the user to have to dial in the more accurate option (usually using the keyboard) leaving the slider all together. A simple solution/suggestion would be allow for the use of modifier keys to slow the value change or in addition, clickable "Nudge arrows" that would allow for fractional or whole number value changes. (Maybe on each end of the slider) Also, I noticed that I cannot make fractional changes to certain functions like the "Halftone" filter or the HSL adjustment. Most screen printers use .25, .5, .75 increments to their angles for halftones. I would love to see this be available to the halftone filter especially but also for the HSL adjustments and any others. Thanks! PS. The latest beta is a substantial gain in the brush performance department! Very noticeable change for the better in removing the "initial lag" so many of us have experienced when starting strokes, thank you for your continued hard work!!!!
  14. Would like to suggest the addition of something similar to the Photoshop filter which does a HSB/HSL conversion of a document that dumps into Channels (would love a version that lands in layers as well). Another option would be for the ability for Affinity range to be able to work with the existing Photoshop plugins for the filter. Thanks!
  15. Hello, Just noting a bug on my end in the AD Beta, anytime I have two documents open, go to close one of them, the program becomes unresponsive and I have to end the task through the task manager. I'm using the lastest AD Beta. Windows 10
  16. I would like for there to be the option to click a "chain" icon like in the Adobe products to unlink the mask from a layer. (obvisouly you don't have to copy the icon idea, maybe something a little easier than targeting a small icon in the UI, maybe being able to do this in a double click isolation mode) Most designers like to position their layers (generally containing textures in this scenario) within a mask to find the pleasing result without having to go through the seemingly small but extra work flow annoyance of having to nest the layers in a group with a clipping mask or layer mask just to get the positioning right. Thanks!
  17. I would love to see an option that would allow users to select the range and actual swatches/palette for the export of an image with the Palettized option ticked. Unless there is already that capability unbeknownst to me? Also, with the "Custom" setting selected, what is actually happening? Is it allowing Affinity P/D to make the palette decision? I think this would be a great workaround for the lack of an index mode in Affinity.
