Stes reacted to Slammer in Publisher separates 100% black after exporting to PDF for press
Ooops! Sorry, I get so many printers calling with really bad "original" files wondering how to get them out without too much hassle. Only recently a printer installed a brand new KBA where I calibrated the workflow. Done in Kodak EVO with Colorflow it was as perfect a calibration as anybody could hope for. A few days later the customer called complaining very loudly that the prints have been rejected from their customer and I should swing my ass back and do my, Quote: "Goddam job properly" I went back and checked the prints, they were perfect in every aspect including a DeltaE of under 1, the prints showed the crappy original files exactly the way they were. I pointed this out that what you see is what you damn well got. And was asked to calibrate the new press exactly the way the old worn out and weary press was because they could not tell the customer, a well known design studio, to change the way they create their files.
I did it with a lot of head shaking on my part creating a set of calibrations for this customer´s customer only and the customer´s customer has been a happy camper ever since
So don´t feel bad.

Stes got a reaction from lacerto in Publisher separates 100% black after exporting to PDF for press
Thank you! Thank you very much. I thought that it was enough to set the colour profile in document settings only. 🤦♂️

Stes reacted to Jeremy Bohn in No document-wide replace font?
Unless I'm missing something, the Font Manager in Publisher is seriously lacking. I don't understand why there is a way to specify a substitution for a missing font, but no way to actually apply the substitution. And if the font isn't missing, you can't even pick a substitution. The only way around it appears to have set up Styles from the start and then change the styles one by one. But Publisher needs to have a feature like Adobe's "Find Font" in InDesign and Illustrator and Quark...

Hi sommersethdesign,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Currently no, you have to break the shape (nodes) first before selecting and deleting the segment.
I'm moving this to the Feature Requests section.

Stes reacted to Alex_M in [AP]Allow zoom with CTRL+SPACE too
At the moment you can enter in zoom mode only with SPACE+CTRL if you try to do it with CTRL+SPACE it's not possible. When I'm focused in the work process, the last thing I want to keep in mind is in what particular order I start this hotkey combination for zooming. When I'm not careful about the order of pressing the zoom hotkey combo, I make duplicates of my layers by mistake instead of zooming. It's a bit irritating. Is this something that can be resolved in the future update?

Stes reacted to Macoun in Delete Selection [Affinity Photo]
Hello MEB.
Sorry for that harsh introduction. I love Affinity Designer since the beginning. But the handling of Affinity Photo getting me down. Over and over again.
What you suggested works, but the explanation is wired. Because there is no vector layer. The layer is and was before an Pixel-Layer. So it contained just Bitmap-data without shapes; no text; no vector-layers at all. I opened just a PNG-Image. That's all. And you can see it obviously in the screenshot beside the layer title: "(Pixel)". That's the starting point.
Now converting a Pixel layer into an Pixel layer ( Huh? ) works, but doesn't makes really sense at all. And you don't have to do that in any other "Bitmap-Editor-Application" on the market.
P.S.:
The lesson i've learned: Instead wasting time with searching and the help-function, ask the forum at first. ^_^
