  1. Ha ha, like it! There is a little fish called the Pacific Leaping Blenny that lives all of its life out of the water, on the island of Guam. Although it still has gills, and needs to keep near the sea spray to remain hydrated, it absorbs oxygen through its skin. Doesn't look as cute as Nobreathunderwateris though :)

  2. Just clicking on the black arrow, the Move Tool, should work. Alternatively, hitting cmd d will deselect the text, and then tap the v key will select the black arrow ( the Move Tool ) you mention. There is a handy guide to all the present shortcuts in the free Affinity Designer ezine, which can be found second from the top in the news and information section of the forum. Hope this helps.

  3. I've probably got the wrong end of the stick ( no pun intended! ), but you can insert more stops on a transparent to colour fill. Say you made a shape, for instance, between 2 red segments of the cane, filled it with transparent to white, then select the fill at the top left there, then the gradient tab and choose insert, and you can add another colour, and insert as many as you like, so you aren't stuck to one colour, like in the shape I've added to your cane in the attached file. Sorry if this isn't what you meant!

  4. Hmm, while I am asking, may I also ask if power duplicate, as well as repeating shapes, changes in size, also applies to effects? For example can I power duplicate an increasing blur as in this file of dancers? It would lead to all sorts of interesting things if effects could be power duplicated too, so they became stronger or lesser with each duplicate.

  5. Forgive me if I am missing something obvious, please, but may I ask if there is a way to perform a power duplicate behind a selection? In the attached file, on layer 4 with the triangles at the bottom for instance, on the right, even though I pressed alt, then dragged the copy and placed it behind the original triangle by pressing "Back One", when I pressed ctrl-J the next copies always appear in front, even as they disappear off into the distance.

I am just playing about with it ( I quite like the shell effect on layer 2 with a star ) to see what it can do. Hope you don't mind me asking. Thanks!
