There is a little shortcut on the Mac - if you press Option and 5 you should see ∞. Will that help?
edit: seems to work if you choose the symbol font with the Text tool in AD.

There are some Affinity have posted on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/user/AffinitySuite and also on their twitter feed at https://twitter.com/macaffinity
Not many yet, but I hope they help you. More will appear soon, no doubt.

Thanks Affinity Team, and for all your continuing hard work! :)

21 tutorials! Even though I don't speak German, I learned some things ( used my iPad SayHi translate to translate some snippets ). Really nicely done, Dragonhh :)

Thanks Ash Teriyaki :)

There is "Media Browser" in the View menu, if that is any help?

Gorgeous! Lovely work, Retrograde. Well done!

Ha ha, like it! There is a little fish called the Pacific Leaping Blenny that lives all of its life out of the water, on the island of Guam. Although it still has gills, and needs to keep near the sea spray to remain hydrated, it absorbs oxygen through its skin. Doesn't look as cute as Nobreathunderwateris though :)

Just clicking on the black arrow, the Move Tool, should work. Alternatively, hitting cmd d will deselect the text, and then tap the v key will select the black arrow ( the Move Tool ) you mention. There is a handy guide to all the present shortcuts in the free Affinity Designer ezine, which can be found second from the top in the news and information section of the forum. Hope this helps.

That's great! Thanks :)

Nice Retrograde! Paolo's blender brushes would be a great asset, for sure. Will they be in Affinity Photo too?

I've probably got the wrong end of the stick ( no pun intended! ), but you can insert more stops on a transparent to colour fill. Say you made a shape, for instance, between 2 red segments of the cane, filled it with transparent to white, then select the fill at the top left there, then the gradient tab and choose insert, and you can add another colour, and insert as many as you like, so you aren't stuck to one colour, like in the shape I've added to your cane in the attached file. Sorry if this isn't what you meant!

Nice work, Motoko! I especially like the trapped piece, and the one below. Very nice :)

Hmm, while I am asking, may I also ask if power duplicate, as well as repeating shapes, changes in size, also applies to effects? For example can I power duplicate an increasing blur as in this file of dancers? It would lead to all sorts of interesting things if effects could be power duplicated too, so they became stronger or lesser with each duplicate.
-
Sorry, I meant Cmd-J of course.

Forgive me if I am missing something obvious, please, but may I ask if there is a way to perform a power duplicate behind a selection? In the attached file, on layer 4 with the triangles at the bottom for instance, on the right, even though I pressed alt, then dragged the copy and placed it behind the original triangle by pressing "Back One", when I pressed ctrl-J the next copies always appear in front, even as they disappear off into the distance.
I am just playing about with it ( I quite like the shell effect on layer 2 with a star ) to see what it can do. Hope you don't mind me asking. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip, Andrew! I'd no idea that was possible. Brill :)

I think the AD example looks better, especially the eyes. Lovely work Retrograde! It is really great seeing examples of people's work and all the encouragement for everyone! Keep at it folks :)

Yes, nice ideas ronnieb7. I really like Paper by 53 ( love the blend on their pencil too ), in which the loupe is great to use :)

Love it Bruno! Well done :)

Well done Lescot. I like how the vertical bands work so well in the image, and "Spring" is so clean. Good work :)

Have had a few crashes with the Corner Tool with different shapes ( once it crashed Mail too ). Also, downloaded the beta from the link above but is prompting me to download a new beta every time I open this AD beta. ( latest version Yosemite and late 2013 MacBook 16 GB Ram ) Apart from that seems fine. Thanks for continued hard work.
