ricecrispies got a reaction from firstdefence in Trying to delete selection of layer, but deletes whole layer instead
I've worked it out now. I had to rasterise the to be able to crop it.

    Good evening.
Personally, in AP, I do that:
Document--> Resize the canvas (Image width x 2).
Copy and paste the photo. Organize--> Horizontal turning.
Activate the magnetism to position with precision.
    (Results on request).

Try Filters > Distort > Mirror. It takes a little experimentation but it will do what you need. It isn't obvious, but you can drag the image on screen for even more control over the finished product.

.... And what app(s) are you using?
AP has a Mirror filter. (destructive, but it's there).

    Hi ricecrispies,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Do you have cropped the document previously? If you right-click the layer in the Layers panel and select Rasterize then proceed to create the selection and copy/paste it to a new layer does it still behave the same way?

ricecrispies got a reaction from Chris B in "Copy" copies whole layer instead of just selection
It turned out that I needed to rasterise the layer which I had copied and pasted from a web page.

ricecrispies reacted to MJSfoto1956 in can you adjust things like hue and saturation per layer?
of course. Add an HSL adjustment layer and drag it to your layer (whatever it is). It will only affect the behavior of that layer. If you want it to be global then drag it back to be on top.
