  1. I'm extremely impressed with this kick-off and I am honestly proud of you guys. Even though I might not be using this any time soon,... like I said before: once it launches, purchasing is a no-brainer. Even if it's just to support you guys. Awesome job!!!
  2. Not sure if I should still report on a bug that I've reported on in previous versions (but is still present). Maybe the bug already made it to the list, and I don't wanna come across as a naggy little turd. Either way, I'm ready to buy as soon as this releases. My AD is feeling lonely now.
  3. The bug from the previous version is still present in the current release: -download the "Dreamers" document -open it -toggle open the Layer -select (Group) -press slash (/) on your keyboard -undo (ctrl-z or using the menu) It seems to (not) work on certain groups, but not on all, but if it does, it's reproducible. Even after clearing everything (starting AP with ctrl). *EDIT* Reproducible by doing the following: 1. Create a new document 2. Create a new layer 3. On top of the layer, create a new folder 4. Press / 5. Undo Result: Crash
  4. I think I found a little reproducible bug. download the "Dreamers" document open it toggle open the Layer select (Group) press slash (/) on your keyboard undo (ctrl-z or using the menu) Edit: The above seems to work on any Group in any document.
  5. Affinity Designer has some little shortcomings/incompatibilities in regards to Illustrator, but it does what it does so well (and sometimes better than Illustrator) that I've been able to make that switch in a heartbeat. I purchased it yesterday and I'm only keeping Illustrator for now to be backward compatible. For Photo it's a bit more difficult. Not being able to import my actions (I have quite a few) from PS makes the transition a bit painful. having said that, I'll definitely purchase when Photo becomes available for Windows. Yes, I am that satisfied. And I'm sure that by then, the little slow-fonts-issue will have been resolved :) What I do miss is the ability to import my PS actions, and I have quite a few. That's the most important thing for me to keep PS installed. Having said that, it won't prevent me from buying AP once it's available. Designer has some little shortcomings/incompatibilities in regards to Illustrator, but it does what it does so well that I've been able to make that switch easily.
  6. Most users on the other hand, especially (semi)professional users, work a lot faster by using keyboard shortcuts. To be honest, I know no one that doesn't use undo/redo shortcuts in favor of an interface button. The main reason is that it just works a lot faster to also use your keyboard. And in a world where time is money, working more efficient is key. But, I could think of one valid reason to be able to use a button rather than a keyboard shortcut; a physical disability. If a person has no, or limited, functionality to his or her left/right hand, it could be a blessing to have a button in the interface. I do know one person that fits into that category, but she uses a pen with the undo/redo function under the buttons on the pen. Her mouse has multiple macro's attached to it as well, including undo/redo. I think it would probably be a really good thing if you would start learning to use your keyboard as a part of your workflow. Once you've mastered it, you'll notice how much faster you can work. Win/win situation for you I'd say.
