  1. Really don't know if this is a bug or not, but I lost control of the screen through a series of clicks, and could not recover despite using the view menu and various zoom options, so I don't know if I could repeat the process. Attached is a full screen picture of the event. Please note the big discrepancies - No toolbar on left even when minimizing view; separated panes for the image and the control panels; the third bar down loses the bottom pixels of the text; and my biggest gripe through all of the versions back to 2016 is when I click on VIEW, the menu box displays ZOOM on the first line with an arrow pointing right, but the submenu always is on the left and it requires several attempts to get there as it disappears if the cursor strays from the zoom text line.
  2. I don't have any magic, and after reading your posts, I clocked the load time on several RAF images and they averaged just a tic over 4 seconds. Computer is a MSI with i7 processor, 32 GB ram, and Invidia 930 graphics card. Just another bit of info, my desktop which is a 2012 ASUS with an i5 with 8GB and another older Invidia card was a bit longer, but not unexpected because the specs aren't there. Just tried 4 more raws to see if I was dreaming and I got 5.5, 6.4, 4.1, 4.6 - all files about 18.9 mb in size. I am loading from a folder on the hard drive, not off of the SD card or from camera.
  3. Didn't see any comment regarding this issue, but I have had a problem with 1.6.1.93 and the selection brush. The marching ants indicating the selected area show only across the bottom and right side of the selected area when that area selected reaches the top and left sides of the image. The area selected does faithfully display when choosing to create a layer. However knowing ahead of time, is a guess.
  4. I use an older Fuji X-S1 and RAF raw files and I usually see only a 2-3 second delay in loading. I thought this was pretty good (at least as fast as my .PEF Pentax files).
  5. The tutorials are really quite good and informative,l but.............you need a great memory to mimic them when you are working on a file and especially when off line or trying to demonstrate a technique to someone. I can't discover a way to download them to play at a convenient time when not near an open connection to the internet. Is there a way? :)
  6. I can understand Chris' point of view quite well. At least, when starting a topic, an AD or AP could be indicated at the start of the topic to show the main point of the discussion instead of the reader discovering the issue several lines into it. Why not?
  7. The comments above brought up the following thought in my mind -"Is the black color in a color image the same as the black color in a black and white image?" If asked, I would guess "NO" - but only because when desaturating a black color in a color image to nil (0), it doesn't change appearance. However, I feel that there really is a better answer.
  8. Hey Frogger - Good tip thank you but won't work with windows 10. Spec on download of this file says it requires Windows7 or Vista. Rats! I was hoping it would be this simple.
