The issue has also been picked up here as well... there appears to be a Divide bug, however Geometry > Separate Curves is a temporary workaround until it's fixed...

there is one thing I do not understand.
Any graphic application for children has in 2022 a simple 'Remove Background' button.
One click, done!
Why does one still have to do 50 operations in Affinity Designer to remove a background?

You can do this in Designer (in a way), but not without using premade vector brushes. What I meant when I created this topic was that it would be nice if you were able to apply any pixel brush to a path as demonstrated in the video that @ivan.dedos posted above.

Not really so odd. The Affinity apps share a common file format but different functions are exposed in the UI depending on which app you’re using. For example, you can only add artboards in AD but they’re still there when you open the file in APh or APub, and if you add a live lighting filter in APh it remains live/adjustable when you open the file in the other apps.

I just did a test. I created a brush stroke path in Affinity Designer. I copied that and pasted it in Affinity Photo. It is editable in AP as a path. Odd that this works but it can't be done directly in AP.

In the stock panel we list a selection of stock image providers for the convenience of our customers on the basis of it being a free service. Unfortunately in the case of Unsplash they have begun demanding license fees for their API which is the reason they have been removed.
The good news is this  only affects Unsplash, the other options of Pixbay and Pexels continue to be available.
Of course should you wish to use Unsplash images you can download directly from their website using a browser and then import into your Affinity apps by drag & drop or File -> Place, as you would with any other stock library not listed in the panel.

Bumping to show support for the cause, the lack of this feature's been a thorn in my side!

I know a number of people have asked for an arc tool over the years, but so far it hasn't appeared in Affinity Designer. It's an essential tool for drawing geometric patterns, e.g. Islamic geometric patterns, along with gothic tracery, arches, etc. Here is a video to show the functionality of the arc tool.
Functionality:
Snap the centre of the arc to any point on a line or curve, the end of a line, or intersection of lines/curves Snap the circumference to a line, the end of a line, or intersection of lines/curves by selecting the end point of an arc, extend the arc snap tangent to curves using the arc tool, draw a complete circle ==== VIDEO OVERVIEW BELOW >>>>

Having the ability to apply a raster brush to a path would be such a welcome feature, even if the path is not editable after applying the brush effect.
 
In many cases there are obscure shapes or angled lines that are difficult to draw freehand, and in those cases it would be great to be able to use the pen tool, but still retain the same texture and style of the raster brush you were using, as if you drew the stroke by hand. I know you can apply vector brushes in AD, but I mostly use the raster brushes in AP to sketch. Furthermore, the brushes in AD are stretched along the path, where in AP it would be great to rather have the ability to make it look like the stroke was drawn as if you were using the brush tool.
 
I’ve recently been drawing out a lot architectural interiors for clients using a drawing tablet in Photo, and have really missed the ‘apply brush to path’ feature from Photoshop - would really speed things up and improve the end results!
 
I’ve seen a few mentions of this online, but wasn’t sure if it was logged as a feature request yet, so here you go.

Unfortunately there's not yet been any further update here - I believe our developers are currently focused on performance improvements over new features in our current beta versions, so I suspect we may look to begin adding new features in the version following this. Unfortunately our developers do not confirm dates for features before they've been implemented in the app, so I couldn't provide a more specific timescale at this time, my apologies.

Any update on when support for complicated smart objects will be released? We've currently use photoshop for all our mockups and this is the main thing preventing us from switching our entire workflow to Affinity.

This is great! I just downloaded the beta version (thanks for the link!) and tried it out. Works well in my quick tests. This will be really nice to have...
