I'm with retrograde — as a technical illustrator, grids and guides are key for me. Isometric, axonometric, perspective grids. Presets would be great, but being able to convert art to guides would be a good start.

I think customizable keyboard shortcuts will really help users moving from other applications get acquainted with Designer. As a longtime Illustrator user, most shortcuts are muscle-memory. Being able to assign these same shortcuts to Designer's tools and functions would be a great help.
