So, Designer is now able to import and export DWG's. That's great, that's fantastic. As fantastic is the measure tool. Brilliant. But it would be groundbreaking if you can add dimension to the drawing!!! You’ll have all the architecture-related people who are going to use Designer! You are near there!!! Please please please add this, and vector patterns..😁😅

Now with DWG/DXF Export this is becoming even more important. I haven't upgraded from V1 yet, but I will once this happens.

For me , it is essential to have an easy way to insert dimension lines (traits de cote, in French),
this is very easy in Corel Draw for instance (and I am sure a standard feature in anything dealing with architecture),
typically, you select 2 points, the distance (at the appropriate scale, this point being easy in Affinity) appears,
but then is inserted as a (2 pointed arrow) line in the document (usually , you can choose the distance between
the dimension line and the measured line for readability)
this is really something which would make my decision to buy the full suite

Very poor UX decisions. I hope you don't continue on this path like Adobe, who forces outrageously complicated workflow workarounds, frustrating users for years.

Having this feature would save me the additional steps of exporting a bitmap image every time I need to edit my patterns that are defined using Affinity Designer's Bitmap Fill workaround.

As well, it's important for those like myself who use Affinity Designer art in vector animation programs where vector art is required for all assets so that they maintain their crisp quality no matter how large they appear on screen.

I add my vote to this too!  +1

I'm just going to keep bumping this feature request whenever it surfaces.
Vector pattern fill is one of the few features of Illustrator that I really miss. I used it regularly and frequently notice its absence.

This is a must have as far as my work goes.  I've been doing hacks to get around it - but at a cost of many hours, literally.  I vote +1

Just reposting this v1 feature request in the v2 feedback forum.
Would be good to know if implementing this feature is even possible, I assume the inner software architecture doesn't allow it (only bitmaps) and it might only be possible with a hacky and unstable implementation, but if you can confirm it at least we can close the question with a definite answer.
    Here's the v1 thread:

Pep75 reacted to Pettersson in Text frame links and text size
Hello! I have also been having problems with this issue. It makes Publisher unpredictable, since I never know what text frame I may have accidentally resized.
When I have a bunch of linked textframes, it is not uncommon that the text varies sligthly in size without me noticing it.
Or, if I notice it and adjust the text size in the second text frame, and then the text flows back into the modified text frame -- the size will change again!
The only solution I have found is to delete all textframes and start from the beginning.
Does anyone know if I can reset the size in the textframes? Or at least identify if any textframe in my document affiects the text size? Thanks!

This is about the only thing that still prevents me from ditching Corel Draw in favor of Affinity Designer.
The ability to add configurable snapped dimension lines ( that auto-dimension as needed) is essential to my use case...

Thousands of your users have been asking for DXF Export in Designer for years
..v2 has been released with import only!
..why is this!??? EXPORT functionality is by far the most useful and necessary workflow for 2D & 3D professionals
..I'm dying over here  ..or is this some kind of trick?

The processing could be improved so that generation of the preview of the first page of the specified range is shown as soon as possible (similarly as when only one page is selected to be exported) and the actual "prerendering" performed in the background. As preview is now always shown, users typically wait for preview to appear simply to verify that rendering is as expected, without necessarily realizing that it is not necessary to wait for the process to finish (or preview to be displayed). That a full "prerendering" is done is ok since it e.g. shows realistically the file size and whether something will be rasterized in the export.
