So, Designer is now able to import and export DWG's. That's great, that's fantastic. As fantastic is the measure tool. Brilliant. But it would be groundbreaking if you can add dimension to the drawing!!! You’ll have all the architecture-related people who are going to use Designer! You are near there!!! Please please please add this, and vector patterns..😁😅

Personally, I really mis the export to DXF/DWG option in Designer. I very often export logo's to SketchUp and other sorts of artwork. I installed a SVG importer in SketchUp but I really prefer to export a DWG/DXF from Affinity. I really hope they will implement this soon.

Hi All,
When I want to generate a preview in Designer en Publisher when exporting to PDF this is taking ages. Even small size documents cost a lot of time generating a preview. I'm I doing something wrong?

Don't get me wrong...I love Affinity and prefer it above AI, but in my workflow I really mis these functionalities.

I'm now three weeks working with Affinity Designer v2 instead of Adobe Illustrator and I really mis these functions which keep me with Adobe right now.
- No DWG export;
- No vector patterns and brushes;
- No 3d tools;
- No bleeds visible when using artboards;
- Designer is getting sluggish after a while.
I want to switch so much! Pleas Affinity keep it up! -

Dear Serif,
As an interior architect/ architect, who really wants to switch entirely from Illustrator to the Affinity Suite, I really really really mis two things....
1: Vector brushes/ pattern brushes -> for cut out vinyl's etc;
2: Vector pattern generator and vector patterns, like Illustrator.
3: Blend tool!
What would be very very nice to be added will be a vectorizer and more 3d tools (inflate etc)....
Keep up the good work Serifers!!!

Hi all! Publisher becomes slow when I move a text item when with 'decorations' turned on. I add a fill behind the text and then dragging that particular text (one word) becomes enormously slow. Open Cl has been turned off. Am I doing something wrong?
EDIT/ UPDATE;
Now it is okay again. ? Is it normal that Publishet becomes slow suddenly? Strange!

When I moving around object in Affinity Designer (2.04 /PC) I get some artifacts / trails. Please see attachment. I switched off OpenCL and I have a NVIDIA RTX 3080. In this particular case, this is a group of two bended text lines.
Does anyone has the same problem? Is this a bug?

Dear Affinity Designer Developers,
I've bought the entire Affinity Suite😁 and tried to switch with my workflow from Adobe, but yet Designer, for me, is still missing some tools. Oh, I'm based in Amsterdam and working freelance as an interior architect/architect/graphic designer...designing exhibitions/ experiences etc.
Missing essential functions;
- Tracing images;
- More gradient tools like Illustrator (with pins);
- Creating patterns the easy way (like Illustrator) and add them as swatches (even in Photo);
- Isolation mode;
- Free transform / distort;
- More line types (like pattern line types);
- Import DWG/DXF/SKP;
I know other freelance designers are really missing these functions in Affinity and keep them for switching completely, so please integrate these and I'm redeemed.

Thanks for your reply...Yes tried that, but it remains choppy and slow :(. Installed the newest drivers etc etc...but nothings seems to help. When document are getting a 'bit' complex it just slows down everything. Sliders and input fields (like size) are soooooo choppy and slow!!! Changed resolution etc etc....nothing works.

I really, really love the Affinity workflow but I still can't make the switch from Adobe. I really miss the pattern-make tool, warping in Designer and a trace function. But even when these functions are implemented there is one huge issue: S P E E D. When there are 'some' objects on the canvas Designer (and Photo and Publisher) becomes s l o w. For instance, if I want to change the stroke width on one object it's fast, snappy and responsive, but when there are several objects (really non-complex) stroke adjustment becomes very very laggy (pretty annoying). This is such a pity!!! If this can be solved I'm over!
I'm working on a i7-8700k 3,7ghz, all ssd's and a GTX 1080 videocard. I also work with a Wacom Intuos Pro 2, but mouse movement shows the same sluggishness...:(

Even in the Beta of Designer, 2.4.0, this still can't be selected. Is this a bug? When you select two objects why you can't select to which object you want to align? Am I doing something wrong?
