Bad_Wolf got a reaction from Ron P. in Czur Shine Ultra document scanner to Publisher?
    @Ron P. and @walt.farrell,
Thank you both for your answers. The Czur software does not provide scanning to an external application. What I did as a solution, I choose a  directory where the scans will be saved, so that I can easily open them with Photo.
One other question, in what quality do I save the scans? Low - Moderate - High? Finally, I will create a pdf and print them. Will moderate enough or do I choose high? Thank you for your advice.

I cannot understand that after two weeks, this discussion is still going on. I am relying since 2009 on Serif software for the graphics I create. The Plus range let me create things, I would never have created with other tools. When development stopped for the Plus range, I was also sad and concerned.
When I start using the Affinity suite (when it became available) I was hesitating too, despite the fact after two weeks of using, I did no longer looked back and deleted Draw and PhotoPlus from my laptop. Since then, Affinity became my preferred tool (I use Ragtime instead of Publisher) for drawing and retouching photos.
Now I am watching the Affinity Revolution paid courses to bring me up to speed as soon as possible. Last weekend they released Photo v2 which is a marvel of a course. If Ally or Ezra (I know they read these forums too) read this, please also create a Designer v2 and Publisher v2 course too. In my free time I also watched Youtube tutorials about specific features.
People are using V2 to make money by creating astonishing artwork. They are sharing their experiences and when getting stuck, they are giving workarounds which they foundout in the process. Many of those teachers also say that they wished for more but are satisfied with what they got. Myself also wished for more, but because not all my wishes are forfilled, I have still something to look out for.
Maybe the new installation was not such a good idea, however, Serif stated that they are looking into it and will come with a solution in the future. I am sure they are doing their best to solve our problems and listening to their users. I also cannot use Designer as external app with Faststone Screencapture. I now save in png and open it with Designer to do what I intended to do.
Positivity is so much stronger then negativity! I can only advice you to stop complaining, upgrade to V2 (or not) and start using your creativity to create your artwork and bring food on the table! That is the only way!
To end, I like to thank the whole Serif team for the excellent v2 upgrade, which once you master the new features is a true piece of art done. Keep the good work coming!

I  can only completely agree with both of you. When I bought the Affinity Suite years ago (I have two licences), I received a nice discount for one of them for which I am grateful. I find the hugh 40% discount for everybody very generous and fair from Serif.
Am I more important with my 2 licences than somebody with 1 licence? Definatelly not! When I look around on this community, I see people helping people voluntarily to a great extend, I see astonishing artwork created and shared by members here. That are the people who earn even a much greater discount than myself.
The discount is a true bargain for everybody. And above all, people receive new features and tools which makes their workflow easier and faster. Instead of whining, people should explore these new tools, see how much they can push them to the limits, start creating and earning money! That is the only way to go to let Affinity pays itself back.
Creativity is the answer to succes, not the discount you received. Even at full price, Affinity will pay itself back for me.
I want to close this subject by telling to people who feel disappointed because others receive the same discount:
"be happy and gratefull for the nice discount you receive and grant other people the same joy!".

I do agree with All Media Lab. We could use Affinity since 2016 (2020 for Publisher I think) for so many years with a single payment. Lets say you paid for Affinity in January this year. Now compare that with an Adobe subscription. Here is what you pay monthly:
    Illustrator: 24,19 USD
    InDesign: 20,99 USD
    Photoshop: 20,99 USD
Which makes a total of 66,17 USD a month. I took these 3 applications because the universal license also cover these.
Now you have to pay 119 Euro (a dolar is more than one euro on this moment) for the universal licence with the discount. Without discount it will 199 euro for a program which you can keep using, even when the next (v3) version will come out.
When you make use of the discount, after less than 2 months you are winning compared with Adobe.
Another advantage of Serif/Affinity is that the development team is listening to their users. Try that kind of support with Adobe and I can tell you, you run back to Affinity. In the past I had Adobe subscriptions for InDesign. Even when Affinity doesn't have all functionality of Adobe, I will not return back to Adobe for sure.
For those who find this upgrade too little, think twice. Look at the Ragtime.de website how much you pay for the 64bit update for Ragtime 7 (from version 6.6.6). Normal price 737 EURO, discounted price until 16 december 637 EURO. For those who do not know Ragtime, it is a DTP application for businesses, comparable with Affinity Publisher. Despite being a Ragtime users since 1994, I do not recommend switching to Ragtime, Publisher is a better choice easier to learn and more visually pleasing.
I also wished more for this upgrade. However, I understand that not all my wishes can come true in this release. I really would wish a blend tool which will not be for this version. But I am not moaning or disappointed for the lack of a blend tool. Instead, I already explored the other new tools which I am very satisfied with. And if 99% of Affinity is the same, then I interprete that as a compliment to Serif! Because it means that we only have to learn that other 1% which is a hugh time saver.
To conclude my reply, even 199 euro would have been acceptable for me because then after 3 months I win compared with Adobe. I am using Designer and Photo since 2016, make your calculation over all those 6 years compared with Adobe and you see how much I already gained!
For some people, there is really no shame and I mean it! Serif did a great job and we should at least give them our appreciation for  their efforts to bring us new tools, features and creativity.
Thank you Serif for the excellent applications you delivered!
    Chris

I think the Serif team needs to take a cue from their American counterparts at BlackMagic Design.
Although they removed the Russian language from their site, they (of course) left the Russian language in the Davinci Resolve interface.
Why? Because Americans are extremely pragmatic people who know how to do business.

They understand that they have a lot of users who think and speak Russian. These are their customers, which means their sales and subsequent profits. And losing customers and profits due to some kind of sanctions is not good for business.
Let's hope that the Serif team has the same pragmatism, respect for the Russian-speaking part of the customer audience, the desire to earn more will overcome some temporary oddities about the exclusion of the Russian language from the Affinity Suite interface languages.

The interface of the first and second versions of Affinity Suite has not experienced too significant changes. Rather, they are cosmetic and local. They already had Russian localization of the interface in the first version.
Therefore, transferring it to the second was not particularly difficult. There's something different here. Possibly politics. Let's hope that reason and commercial expediency will overcome these prejudices.

Serbian is spoken by too few people in the world. Therefore, it is not necessary to make an interface on it. But 300+ million think and speak Russian. And a good half of them do not live in Russia. By the way, 40% of Ukrainians speak Russian, including the President of Ukraine (Russian is his native language).
The US speaks English and Spanish. And this has long had nothing to do with England and Spain. Therefore, depriving the Affinity interface of the Russian language is a bad and impractical idea. IMHO.

    Hi all!
I live in Moldova, but I speak Russian. Moldova is not under sanctions.
I have been using Affinity Suite products for a year now and I really like them.
Updated yesterday to version 2 and suddenly found that now the interface does not support the Russian language.
Guys, I understand that sanctions have been imposed on Russia and there is no way for people to pay with Russian cards.
I understand that you are not particularly interested in that market now.
    But there are 3 arguments:
A huge number of creative people who worked in Russia and speak Russian have left the country and are working remotely somewhere abroad. They continue to be your audience and customers.
Very many of the russians have already made payment cards abroad and transferred their capital outside of Russia. Therefore, they continue to be paying customers for Serif and make a profit.
In addition to Russia and the 146 million people living there, more than 300 million people speak Russian all over the world. That is, another 150+ million live outside of Russia and speak Russian. They are also your customers. Given all of the above, I do not understand why you removed the Russian language from your applications. Not everyone who speaks Russian is inside Russia and supports the war and the course of the government.
Therefore, a big request to Serif is to return the Russian localization inside the Affinity Suite applications. Thank you for understanding the aspirations of your customers.

    Hi all!
I am Russian and I do not support this war, we sold everything and the whole family went to live in Montenegro, since May we have been living and working here and are not going to return, the youngest son goes to a local school, the eldest works, we all have a residence permit!
I was very pleased with release 2.0, I used to buy only Photo, but today I read that they added a new one and bought it, I bought it not for rubles, but for euros, from a local bank card, but when I saw that there was no Russian interface, I was annoyed, looked at the forum, saw that it was not one such and decided to write!
I perfectly understand and support the policy of Affinity about not selling their products in the aggressor country, but people who not only left, but also those who stayed and do not support the regime need to work, receive money for their continued existence.
I ask you, please, return the Russian interface, or for example, add Serbian, we want it, because we want to get citizenship here in the future!

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums
I do not think that MEB mistyping the name of a product DrawPlus as PagePlus is helpful or relevant here. He has never supported those products and as he is a more recent employee focused solely on the Affinity range.
Marketing emails rarely tell you what a product does not do, and I doubt you really expect that it would. I think the problem may be that you have assumed the software is an "Update" but that Serif may have used the word Update meaning that we are constantly updating Affinity to add more features (at no extra cost) so 1.8 is an update that has new features that 1.7 did not have. Affinity Designer does not offer the same features as DrawPlus and would not be able to import much better than the SVG Import or PDF import already implemented.
You really haven't, but as your purchase was in the last few days, you have plenty of time to email AffinityReturns@serif.com and ask for your money back under our 14 day no quibble returns policy.
