Bad_Wolf reacted to painTony in Introduce Yourself
Hello, I am Tony Scott "painTony", well that's how my better half defines me. I'm getting on a bit, but not too old to make changes - I'm a refugee from Adobe, especially now they are getting rid of Muse and shutting down Business Catalyst. Just got *PHOTO AND *DESIGNER and learning through tuts as we speak. Glad to be here!

Bad_Wolf reacted to Totte in Introduce Yourself
Hi, I'm Totte from Sweden, a beginner photographer and designer who stumbled across these two lovely pieces of software as I was looking for an alternative to one of your competitors. As I'm no fan of the monthly fee model, the choice was given. Don't regret joining this lovely community for one second.

Bad_Wolf reacted to Dave61 in Introduce Yourself
Hi I am Dave, use to have the Adbe CC then the Standalone. Two days ago I bought Affinity Photo which looks good for me, plus I got the Workbook too but just waiting for it to arrive. I am also having a 30 day free trial of Capture One Pro 11 as I want to have both working side by side.

Bad_Wolf got a reaction from lepr in Small irritating line visible between 2 objects with the same color
Hello Owenr,
A "special thank you" for your very skilled and professional help. I do appreciate the time and efforts you spent on helping me with something I could no longer solve on my own.
I enabled "Force Pixel alignment" and disabled "Move by whole pixel' which exactly respected the dimensions of my object when it is exported.
Also I was not aware of the possible misalignment when there are multiple Artboards present. There are indeed 3 artboards present.
I agree with you that the option "Force Pixel Alignment' is our best friend.
I already corrected the file and now everything looks as expected. The graphics I am creating now are for a "Sorry!" game I am making in Construct 3 for our small daughter. When it is finished, I will give you a copy if you like (it does not contain adds or any bloatware).
You did made my day and improved my (limited) drawing skills. I wish you all the best and a very nice day.
Chris

Bad_Wolf reacted to walt.farrell in Movable ruler (mm)
When you created the Print document you probably ended up with a dpi setting of 300. Changing the document to Web (in Designer) would not have changed that.
Your ruler also ended up as 300 dpi.
When you created the Web document you probably ended up with a dpi setting of 72. Trying to move your ruler into that new document, with the dpi mismatch, would cause resizing and distortion of the ruler, I think.

Bad_Wolf got a reaction from Callum in Can artboards be used as a "mood" board?
Hello Callum,
Thank you very much for your reply which I do appreciate.
Affinity Artboards are very powerfull. I created an artboard named "MainDrawing" and another artboard named "MoodBoard". I placed inside the MoodBoard artboard the example images and just draw in the other. It works perfectly for me.
Also the author told me that if I know how to work with Affinity Designer, there would be no problem (it is an Adobe Illustrator course about designing Vintage Logo's). I have no problems creating the Vintage Logo's with Affinity.
Wish you a very nice day and all the best.
Chris
