The thing that irks me a little bit is that Designer replaced DrawPlus which had tracing from about 2010 onwards.
I am not a "power user" and to me Designer seemed a bit of a retrograde step compared to DrawPlus. That's why I went to CorelDraw. It was Corel's crippling of the lower end versions that got me back to Designer.
Just for the hell of it I installed DrawPlus X8 in a Win10 VM yesterday. I was surprised to find that for my usage I could still do everything I needed in just the one package. I must reiterate that I have rather basic needs for a vector design package so the advantages I assume Designer must have over DrawPlus are lost on me.

If you are a new arrival to this thread and have found that it is locked but still want to show your support for Affinity on Linux, simply like this post

True, but the fact that after seven years autotrace has not surfaced it certainly gives that impression.
I installed my old version of CorelDraw (X8) to use its tracing. I find that after tracing I then start editing in CorelDraw as well. I now have more .cdr files than I do .afdesign!

A palette editor would be nice (unless there is one and I just haven't found it - it is late - I am tired)
