They are listening, but they have limited resources.
Best regards!

Don't forget about using a camera to read facial gestures.
When I frown or look confused I want it to automatically process the undo function.
Actually, no, scratch that; it would undo pretty much everything I create.

Mithferion got a reaction from DrZigZag in [ADe] Kawaii Pug
Hi everyone!
Hope you are having a great weekend. Well, I wanted to share something I did and something new for me: drawing a Pug using a "Kawaii style". The intention is to create a character and then having said character in different moods and situations (like Facebook stickers).
As I said, this style is something new for me, so any feedback and tip will be appreciated.
Best regards!

Thanks, Mike. I guess I would be well advised to stop parroting that particular piece of advice!

Anyone that is going to edit that file will know. Illy doesn't automatically release clipping paths, for instance. Most any design I have made there are a dozen or more clipping paths that have to be released (and that clip path container deleted) in order to then work on the file.
The rename thing is a hack and is no better than just giving a PDF in the first place. The hack was originally done for various applications that couldn't open PDF but could AI files--when all they were opening was the pdf stream anyway!
dozens had started a new topic after posting to this thread.

True, but the "free content" brushes and macros are not in the announcement, as they are only available for 2 weeks from 1.6.7 launch, whereas this announcement will live for a long while I expect.

"Andrew Loomis." Wow, I'd completely forgotten the name. I had studied his work when I was a kid. What ended up more influential for me was "The Painter's Secret Geometry: A Study of Composition in Art" by Chas. Bouleau. In most of the examples shown, the compositions are mostly dependent on the geometry of the canvas. But in some works, like those of Vermeer, the proportional grid, golden sections, for nested compositions within the whole, which in turn, must be supposed to be part of an yet another scale of composition.

Where does that leave us with regard to Affinity Designer for iPad, Matt? You posted your ‘#shakycam’ teaser to Twitter in July of last year!

We won't release anything until it's ready, and we won't be showing pictures of what we've got until we're nearly ready because other people can copy our UI in the meantime! It makes no sense for us to tease a UI until it's nearly ready for sale... 2 months since the last posting is surely not discouraging is it? There's nothing new to say and development takes time - great things don't just pop into existence without many man-years of work!

The Vanishing Point Filter in Photoshop is similar in concept, in that it is a 2D construct and it allows you to drop flat artwork onto and rotate it upon a grid to simulate a surface. Its' an elaboration of what you could do in Photoshop with the Free Transform tool, prior. But again, it is all about raster imaging, not vector artwork. And as you can tell from its name, its intention assumes converging perspective, not parallel perspective.
Moreover, though, as I said earlier:
An interactive axonometric grid feature facilitates axonometric construction, which is about much more than just distorting a flat image to look like it's on a flat surface of a box. It assists you in drawing objects of all kinds of shapes with mechanically-correct proportion. For example, the samples below are all about drawing "directly into" isometric viewpoints. Very little of it is about dropping objects drawn "in the flat" onto boxy surfaces:

Rick, it doesn't matter what you or I think could or should be possible. Serif has said it isn't gonna happen.
And just how well does the psd import and export work anyway? I find it lacking myself. Or, EPS?
In any case, keep PP for work that is better to not bring forward and use APub for newer work.

I've added DDS support to a list of things to look at in the future. This could be a long way off though, as I have a lot of higher priority work to complete first.

A worthwhile presentation. It is a good, concise description of how to present features so the eye and brain can dwell on them. It doesn't address the issue he mentions early on, "composition." I suppose because he is talking mostly about renders of individual objects. Maybe if one adds in another layer of size, call it "global," and then decompose it by adding in the large shapes in ways that form the same sort of balance he talks about of medium and small frequency detail in the large. That would contextualize any objects within a given frame to an implied larger frame.

Actually, I use a mouse I didn't know about the scroll wheel trick. It's fantastic!
However, I also think that keyboard shortcuts for that would be great.
Thanks for the tip!

Mithferion got a reaction from SrPx in buy it or not buy it, is the question
If it's mandatory to deliver the AI file, some folks do this: pay one month for that solely purpose and integrate that fee into the final price for the client.
Another way would be that more clients embraced the Affinity range of products.
Best regards!

Mithferion got a reaction from MWB Photo in buy it or not buy it, is the question
Haha. This made my day. And that's because:
a) Absurd things are funny.
b) This can be said about anything, so it's so generic.
c) I am in a good mood.
Best regards!

Mithferion reacted to Fatih19 in buy it or not buy it, is the question
Here is the thing : Illustrator existed for about 31 years while AD is 4 years. When a software that is more than 7 times younger can replace most of the older software feature, you (not specifically you, but people that says this software is not an Illustrator competitor) just need more time.

Come on Affinity Gnomes, I have shortcuts to use.
