Hi there! One of the features many of us are waiting for is the Mesh Warp/Distort Tool. And some forum members have asked for a workaround. So, here is one but you need Photoshop Elements for it to work. PSE has the ability to Warp Text, but if you save the file and then you try to open the PSD in Designer/Photo, it will be a pixel Layer, something we don't want. Now, in PSE you can't convert text to Shapes/Paths/Curves... because it's hidden. For that, there is an add-on (you can download the Demo for the version of PSE that you have. In my case, it's version 10) to make all of PSE features available. So, the workflow would be like this: Create a Text in PSE and warp it. Open the Elements+ Demo window and apply the Convert to Shape Effect (consider duplicating the Text Layer prior to this in order to have a bakup). After that, if you save the file and then open it in Designer, you will have a Compund with clean and lovely vectors. It's not ideal, but maybe this will work for some. Best regards!

Hi there. I wanted to share the following for those who want to Warp Text, but you need Photoshop Elements (PSE): In PSE, there is already a feature for warping your texts. The problem is that if you Save it as PSD and open the file in Designer, it's just pixels. After a quick search, I found the following. PSE is capable of converting Text to Shape (Curves), and there is an Add-on that allows the user to access said feature. So, after a test, I could fo the following in PSE 10. First, writ and Warp a Text in PSE. The Add-on will appear in the Effects Panel (I downloaded the Demo Version). double click and the "Elements+ Demo" window will appear: After the conversion has been applied (remember to duplicate the Layer to have a Back Up). Save the File and open it in Designer/Photo. It will appear as a Compound: I tried to do the same in Photopea, but I couldn't find a function to convert the text. If it's there, that'd save you the trouble of using PSE. I will post this on the Tutorials forums, maybe it will be of use for more folks here. EDIT: To convert text to Shapes in Photopea, right click on the Objetc, inside the Layers Panel, and select "Convert to Shape". You can save the file as PSD and you will have the Vectors available. Best regards!

The only thing that can be done to reduce the time needed for this task is to creare a rectangle in the size and position you require, and then create as many duplicates of it as you need. In your video, you create one rectangle at a time, so at least it'd reduce the time and steps a little bit. Best regards!

Also, consider this: - The 1.6 release came with new features, but also had many internal changes. - Ben confirmed that they put a lot of efforts changing the internal framework, and it was time well spent. So, let’s hope for a new set of features by investing time the way they did it. Best regards!

The main reason for me to say what I say is that Affinity reas the PDF representation embedded in AI files, and if a PDF doesn't support the Mesh Gradients, most likely that would be impossible to be editables as in Illustrator. But then again, I may be wrong. Best regards!

Said user was questioning the position and arguments of one developer, and one part of the statements implied that the feature was not implemented. You can agree or disagree with Ben about this (I was supportive about the feature, by the way), but I can tell you that some users also lacked the proper manners to argue in favor of this feature. Best regards!

I couldn't find if this has been requested before (or it's already there but I'm failing to find it), but I'd love to have the ability to chose a color for the Bleed. Or at least, change the default color to Pink or Red, so they are easier to see, like the Margins, that by default are Blue. Best regards!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that line you made is a bitmap and not exactly a vector, right? If that's what want to do, please consider using the Pixel Tool (available in Pixel Persona for Designer and Photo Persona for Photo). Also, unless something has changed, Illustrator uses the half pixel technique automatically, so, the thing with Designer/Photo is that you have to set it manually. Best regards!

On the first feature, yeah, something like the Shape Builder Tool is a real time saver in certain workflows; I'd be glad when that appears. As for the second request, I got used to the Ctrl + Shift + H command (on Windows) to dissapear just the Panels. I also hide the Toolbar, so sometimes I'm working with the Tools and the Context Toolbar, like this: Also, consider that sometimes I work on a 1366 x 768 resolution screen, so this way I can cope with the lack of screen space. Best regards! P. S.: Long time ago I requested this, so I hope the Devs can consider and implement it.

True TRIM Tool
Mithferion replied to kaosartist's topic in Feedback for Affinity Designer V1 on iPad
The second set of Screenshots show how you can easily Mask any image by dragging it below/inside the Vector Shape you want it to look like. Aster you mask the image, you can simply Rasterize. Maybe you could share some Screenshots of where you get stuck. Best regards! -
True TRIM Tool

Yes, totally, but maybe in the process of automating that, the architecture of the product might not even support it. I'd like to think the same way, but... we as customers cannot be sure. Best regards! -
True TRIM Tool

If you want to cut an image in a rectangular shape, you can use the Crop Tool. If you want to do something else, like a circle, follow the example I showd before. Plus, if you want to have the image in a single pixel obbject, just Rasterize it. Sorry if I misunderstood, maybe an example with screenshots could make me realize if I can help you. Best regards! -
Just to let you know, that Inter UI has been updated to the 3.0 version, which means: Besides being a traditional Typeface family, it's a Variable one too. It has more weights, so now it has the following: Regular, Medium, Medium Bold, Bold, Extra Bold and Black, with corresponding Italics. Refined glyphs and kerning improvements. Best regards!

There are plans for a Mesh Fill Tool for Designer, however, I don't think it will support the native Gradient Mesh from Illustrator, but I may as well be wrong. Best regards!
