  1. Totally, but for those who prefer such behaviour, maybe there should an option for those who don't want to hit the Period (.) key to use the Bounding box... And by the way: So, here is the heart: ♥ Best regards!
  2. I've seen some threads where the Serif folks acknowledge that this is a big problem, that they haven't solved it, and that is not easy. That's an answer. Not a welcome one, but that's them saying it in a honest way. Now, if you mean "customers don't get a solution. For years!", then I totally agree. I'd love to see it solved, but can I do in order to get that fixed? I don't have the programming skills to go there and fix it. Now, if someone thinks that they don't care, I don't buy that. Best regards!
  3. I like the way it is right now because this way I have the Rotation Center centered (so to speak...), and if I want to rotate the shape, I won't have to struggle with the alignment of the shape. Best regards!
  4. I see. So, I guess having both options would make more users happy. I'd use the Groups to make conventional categories for them: Serif, Sans Serif, Script, etc. Best regards!
  5. Hi there! I like the idea of having tags and groups, that would make it easier to organize them inside the Application. Now, on a side note, I am one of those that use the least possible number of Typefaces; there's so much quality out there, but one thing I make sure about is that the Typeface/Font can be used commercially and refrain myself from installing "Personal use only" Typefaces, and even doing that, I have over 1,000 Fonts (including those that come with Windows and Microsoft Office); that way at least I don't have to be worried about the use I can make of them. So, the thing Steve Jobs said can be applied here: People think focus means saying yes to the thing you've got to focus on. But that's not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I'm actually as proud of the things we haven't done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying ‘no’ to 1,000 things. Best regards!
  6. Maybe this thread can help you. Best regards!
  7. That's the thing most people don't realise. I understand them, because this lack of manpower can make you feel like you are not being considered... but I don't agree with their statements and how they react. Hope you do well in your nex assignments, Matt. Best regards!
  8. They are working on a bug that affects Windows 7 systems; that bug prevented the release on windows, so it will be avilable as soon as possible. Best regards!
  9. This ETA was mentioned by Ash in a recent interview, so now we have a number. Best regards!
  10. Wait until 2020 to expect something about the DAM they are working on. Best regards!
  11. The level of disappointment will be proportional to the need of a very specific feature. I myself I'm grateful for some of these improvements/new features, but I get how others feel... and I know the Dev Team needs to address many internal parts before any specific features comes to life, I also am aware of the fact that many internal changes will eventually lead to a faster development of new Features (as Ben said). Best regards!
  12. @Friksel If you are happy with the shape of the Star, when you convert it to Curve, this happens: Best regards!
  13. Exactly my thoughts... if we compare this with the Roadmap, the only features that can be deleted are "Bleed area guides" and “Bullets and numbering”. Best regards!
  14. Do you mean like, having this windows as a Panel instead of a floating window? As for hiding them, you can show/hide them with the Ctrl + ; command (on windows). Best regards!
  15. Yes, that's what happens always. At least, to me that has been the case. Best regards!
  16. On my second attempt, I did the following with your file: Grouped all the effects with your original image, and then I rasterized it. After that, I set the text's stroke color to transparent (this is to avoid redundant Curves): Then exported it with the following settings: And the result was this, your text converted to curves and the image as a separated object, with all the adjustments you originally did. For your printing purposes, I guess this should be enough: Hope this helps. I also attached the EPS file. Best regards! Drew's_Gift.eps
  17. Hi there. Well, I exported your file using the EPS (For web) preset: And this is what I see if I open the file in Photo again (I don't have Futura, so I used a similar Font): So, here is the thing: The top object iside the Layer is an image (red rectangle), that has the picture and the text you put in there But below that (blue rectangle) you have your Curves (text and rectangle) and more images. So, I guess that the first object is what the print person must be seeing. The other thing I noticed about the way I exported it is that the color of the other images images changed a bit; there must some setting to address that issue; I'll make some more testings. Best regards!
  18. From this article: For now, the main effort is on getting Publisher out of the door early next year. After that, Hewson says there will probably be an asset manager to organise Affinity files, perhaps in 2020. In the meantime, Serif plans to work on extensibility, to open up Affinity so third parties can write plugins and links, historically part of the appeal of Adobe’s and Quark’s success. “If everything goes well we may have that capability towards the end of next year, 12 months away,” says Hewson. “We will then be wanting to talk to people who might want to take advantage of that. There are very specific high end use cases for print.” So, there is a possibility for us to see Astute Graphics' stuff in the Affinity world. Best regards!
  19. I had to drag it there too. And as you can see on my Signature, I also use Windows 10. Best regards!
  20. If I use the Crop Tool in a Text, and then export said text, the resulting image is just what I trimmed it to. Crop Tool and Export using "Selection with background": I open it back in Designer Best regards!
  21. When the time comes for the 2.0 version, Serif will charge an Upgrade Fee. When will that happen? I don't know. some months ago, they reached the Million Users Mark, so there is potential for growth. When Publisher is released, there will be a percentage of users that will acquire a License, so, Serif will sustain until they reach the 2.0 moment... Also, if I remember correctly, Tony Brightman said that this model also was designed to get them the most profit. Best regards!
  22. By any chance, are you applying any kind of effect to said text? Best regards!
