  1. Franzis HDR Projects Professional 2018 is already working as a plugin in the latest Windows Beta 1.6.3.103 to create a single shot HDR from a single image. It would be fine if the Affinity Photo developers could implement the possibility to load a sequence of different exposures into the plugin.
  2. The shadows improvement The shadows improvement is still not available in the current Windows beta 1.6.2.94. At least I see no improvement.
  3. There are still problems with Nik plugins: With 16bit tiff files Viveza shows wrong colors when I use less than 100% view inside Viveza. Viveza has correct colors in Partha Bagchi's Gimp 2.9.6 compiles. It must be possible to slve this problem. When I make a selection (screenshot) inside Affinita Photo of a 16bit tiff file and want to work on that selection with a Nik filter I get more or less corrupted previews (see screenshots). When I make changes inside the Nik filter and save Affinity Photo applies them correctly only to the selection. But with these corrupted previews I must work blind. When I do the same with a Topaz filter I get a preview not of the selection but of the whole image. That is enough to work with.
  4. When I load a lot of tiff files (to convert them to jpg) into the batch function with parallel processing option, the version 1.6.0.82 tries tries to process all files at once and starts to loop. The official version 1.5.2.69 can handle this and processes at most 4 files parallel. My machine has only 4 threads. The batch function works in 1.6.0.82 when I don't use the parallel processing option.
  5. Using this simple and natural method leads in many cases to an empty or corrupted preview in the plugin. This bug in AP's plugin support has already been discussed several times. For example here https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/30667-plugin-support-is-still-bad-in-version-15044/
  6. Sorry, this was my mistake. I downloaded designer beta instead of photo beta and of course it didn't install because I have no designer license. Regards, dke
  7. Beta 1.5.2.63 does not recognize my purchased, installed and still working version 1.5.1.54. At the beginning of the 1.5.2.63 installation I am prompted to enter my e-mail address and my product key but the installer does not accept the entered data, not even when I log in to my affinity account and use the copy function for my product key. What goes wrong here? Regards, dke
  8. Fixx, I do not want to use LR as browsing app. I often discuss images and the possibilities to edit them with friends. My imaging software should allow me to do that without adding their images to my catalogue. I agree that it would be nice to have a catalogue in Affinity Photo but the user should be able to control what it does.
  9. The only reason why I (and many others) will not use Lightroom ist Lightroom's paranoid catalogue that wants to catalogue not only tons of test versions of my images but also images of my friends when I want to take a look at them on my computer with my Lightroom. Such a catalogue behaviour should not be copied. If a catalogue will be implemented to Affinity Photo it should catalogue only the images that the user wants to have in his catalogue. Lightroom's catalogue is a bad model.
  10. sduccio, if you mean the wrong colors in Viveza, the problem is not solved. I have correct colors in the preview window of Viveza for jpeg or 8-bit tiff files only when i use 33%, 50% or 100% preview size in Viveza. When I see the whole image in Viveza it still has wrong colors. For 16-bit tiff files it is worse. The colors in Viveza's preview window are only correct when I use the 100% preview size.
  11. Ap 1.5.1.52 crashed with error code 0x80070057 at the first trials to start it. I updated from 1.5.1.51. Version 1.5.1.52 runs now after I deleted the folder user\Appdata\Roaming\Affinity\Photo\1.0 (Beta).
  12. I had the same startup error. After renaming the folder %APPDATA%\Affinity\Photo\1.0 (Beta) AP created a new one and the startup problem disappeared.
  13. I would be pleased to have this feature in future versions. dke
  14. In the release version Viveza has correct colors with 8-bit sRGB for me only when I use 33%, 50% or 100% preview size inside Viveza. When I see the full image in Viveza it is desaturated. With 16-bit sRGB files I have correct colors in Viveza only when I set the preview size in Viveza to 100%.
  15. The problem existed in earlier betas too. I already posted it here https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/29800-selection-tools-of-affinity-photo-and-plugins/?hl=preview Normally a good photo editor like Affinity Photo has much finer selection tools than plugins. On the other side specialists like Dfine2 or Sharpener Pro 3 in most cases have better methods to denoise or sharpen than their plugin host. So if you want to do selective denoising or sharpening the best way is to combine the advantages of both sides.
  16. When I select a part of an image in Affinity Photo (screenshot AffinityPhoto1.jpg) and call a plugin to work on that selection the plugin comes up with an empty preview (screenshot AffinityPhoto2.jpg). This works in other plugin hosts. Screenshot PaintshopProX8.jpg shows the preview of the selected area using Paintshop Pro X8.
  17. Viveza has wrong colours in other plugin hosts too (Paintshop Pro, Zoner Photo Studio, Photoline ...). At least it seems possible to correct that. In Partha's build of the experimental Gimp 2.9.5 Viveza shows correct colours.
  18. Two screenshots to illustrate what I mean. In Paintshop Pro X8 I have a preview of the selection that I made in the host's GUI before I called Sharpener Pro and I am able to sharpen the selected part of the image. When I do the same using Affinity Photo as plugin host for Sharpener Pro I get an empty preview.
  19. Hi, when I select a part of the image using the selection tools of Affinity Photo and call Dfine2 or Sharpener Pro there is no preview image. It would be fine to have the selection tools of the GUI in addition to the selection tools of the plugins. This works in other plugin hosts. Thanks
  20. If you choose the 100% view in Viveza's settings you get correct colors for a small 1:1 rectangle of the image when you call Viveza the next time. That works pretty good if you only want to make local adjustments with u-points in small parts of the image.
