As this seems to be envisioning a possible future, perhaps that should be "will the sky really be that lilac color?"

This morning on my walk I saw this relic on a dustbin and immediately took a picture of it with my smartphone. At home I released the shoe with the Pen tool in Affinity Photo and edited it extensively in black and white.
It was a lot of fun and I discovered the pen for cropping.

Attached is Revision A of my Tutorial on how I process and edit color negatives using Affinity Photo. (See Revision B later in this thread for an updated version). My original tutorial generally resulted in good conversions, but sometimes the deep shadows took on a blue cast. That could be corrected during editing, but was not ideal. Rev. A corrects this problem entirely and results in better, more accurate conversions. The process in Rev A is different, but is simpler to implement.
I do not own a dedicated slide scanner, negative conversion software or plug-ins. Instead of scanning, I used my DSLR, a 100mm macro lens and an LED backlight to photograph color negatives, which I brought into Affinity Photo in their original negative form. I shot RAW, but full sized TIFFs work equally well.
The approach described in this tutorial works with any brand color negative film and preserves the color relationships in the original negative. No special negative film profiles are required. This method works well for me and I hope others find it useful. There are many ways to process color negatives and convert them to positives, but this works reliably for me and yields an image that is easy to edit.
    Best,
    Lou Dina

I created a panorama in AP2 from 4 jpg mages (500 meters 18-55 lens on a Canon 90D), cropped it then applied some adjustments including introducing  a different sky. I think AP2 has done a good job.

I asked this question, and was given the answer of a simple  Publisher document.
The invitation at the beginning of the Share Your  Work forum invites members to offer their designs for appraisal. This could be for us to appraise the finished product ot the techniques used to produce it.
The document offered for appraisal seems very simple, almost trivial in technical terms. (Even I could have created this.) Yet, it seems to have generated a good number of responses (especially from the OP). None of these  seem relevant to the purpose of the Share Your Work thread. I would considerer this an inappropriate use of this forum.
I would be interested to hear what other contributors feel  before I report this to the moderators.

I agree here, as I too can't see in such sort of postings any real value or relevance for this forum section's "Share your work" here. - The whole thread initially started just with some trivial notes about localizable sentences, esperanto and an replacement symbol. Then further only discusses some maybe research about those. The whole (such notes) in that state, could have been written down in any plain text editor, word processor, an APh/ADe text frame, or whatever. It's overall somehow like writting "Hello World!" into a APub doc and then present that (together with a waving hand symbol at the end) as some with APub created fabulous resulting work!
All in all, it seems to me that something is only being posted here desperately to achieve some communication, maybe out of boredom, or the lack of interlocutors, or the like. - In short, for me personally, this is not a presentation of anything that reflects the relevance and capabilities of the Affinity products or their possibilities (or the graphics and/or layout skills of the author in this context) here, in contrast to many other postings in this forum section!

Perhaps it is because, like me, people cannot understand what you are taking about. Even after googling the phrase.

John Rostron reacted to tantababy in Is there any easier way to do seamless patterns now in v2?
Thanks John, I have used this method in APhoto for seamless textures and it works brilliantly for that. For pattern making I prefer ADesigner as I can keep the elements as vectors, but I love the ability in Affinity to be able to combine different features of the suite....

    Thanks John,
To be clear I am guiding a website update for a local church - taking the lead in some overdue updates including revising an annual yard sale graphic- I have the graphic in wordpress media files ( jpg ) but last year's date. Another member created this graphic and I am attempting now to get the original vector source file now.  Good to know HTML and CSS is an option - I am not a coder but will keep in mind for potential future options!  Thanks again.

    Yes, that's how macros work.
You might try recording one that uses Filters > Distort > Equations or using one of the existing ones from the Resources section like this one:

John Rostron reacted to lineweight in Best way to consistently convert multiple images to B&W in Publisher?
Thanks. I actually was looking at that thread before starting this one.
These are the methods listed there
    1) Go to Document > Colour Format > Greyscale.  Although I never use this as it's destructive and removes the colour information permanently
    2) Go to Layer > New Fill Layer, fill it with white and set the layer blend mode to 'Colour'
    3) Add a Channel Mixer Adjustment Layer and change the Output Channel to 'Grey'
    4) Add a Curves Adjustment Layer, set the layer blend mode to 'Colour', then drag the bottom-left corner point of the curve to the top-left corner (so that it's a horizontal line)
    5) Add a HSL Adjustment Layer and drag the 'Saturation Shift' slider all the way to the left (-100%)
    6) Add a Black & White Adjustment Layer
    7) Add a Black & White Adjustment Layer, and change the default values from 100%, to the following values to mimic method 3 (adding a Channel Mixer Adjustment Layer).  R=29.8%, Y=88.5%, G=58.9%, C=69.9%, B=11.4%, M=41.2% (for RGB 8-bit images only, the values will be different for RGB 16-bit images).  You can record this as a macro.
😎 Add a Soft Proof Adjustment Layer and set the Proof Profile to 'Greyscale D50'.  This will mimic method 1 (Document > Colour Format > Greyscale)
    9) To do it via 'Layer Effects' for a layer or group.  Open the 'Layer Effects' settings.  Go to 'Colour Overlay' and set Blend Mode to Colour, Opacity to 100% and Colour to white or black.

Method 1 wouldn't work for me as I don't want to change the whole document, just certain images.
Methods 2-4 and 7-9 would be rather laborious to do individually for each image.
Method 5  doesn't seem to work for me. I can do this on two images and they don't end up the same tonally.

Method 6 does work. However, it does something to the image that I need to fix by adjusting levels. That's OK but it worries me it's introducing changes that don't need to happen. So, am wondering if there are any better approaches. If not, I'll go with this.

John Rostron reacted to walt.farrell in Crop picture without changing (cropping) the canvas size.
The Crop Tool in Affinity Photo operates on the complete canvas/document.
The Crop Tool in Affinity Designer works like you want; it is for cropping objects or layers.
You can do the same kind of cropping in Affinity Photo by using the Rectangle Tool. For example, given this document:

I can draw a Rectangle with a Fill (any color):

And then I can drag the Rectangle layer in the Layers panel down onto the thumbnail of the Image layer:

And the Image layer is now cropped.
    There are other alternatives, too.

John Rostron reacted to NY32 in Affinity Photo 2 - Are Macros really improved?
Thank you guys for all of your replys. In particular  @John Rostron that really helped me with his set of macros that do exactly what I wanted.
About the discussion, I guess the biggest problem, in my opinion, is that we consider them as the Actions in Photoshop but they aren't. Or, at least, they completely aren't and I don't understand why. If I were an Affinity programmer I'd look at what works in Photoshop and I'd make it to AP. And Actions and the set of Actions are fundamental in Photoshop.
And the fact that we need your set of macros to resize images is the proof that AP wasn't thought with the idea to get the best from competitors and renew it.
And not, Batch is not always the solution for at least two reason: I can't record a batch setting (I have to re-set all settings every time) and not always it works. For example "convert from RGB to CMYK" is not possible. I did a macro, it works if I click on the macro, but if I use that macro in Batch it doesn't work.

Thanks John - I wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something in the process and degrading quality or destroying data doing it one way rather than another.
I'm thinking I just go with a standard +/- 2.0 Ev with 3 shots (Auto exposure bracket mode in my camera) and pick... 3 or 4 focus points.  Do the exposure bracket for each of the 3 or 4 focus points.  Then I HDR merge each set so I end up with the 3 or 4 HDR photos with each having a different focal point.  Then perform the focus stack merge and see what I get.
Need to get my sensor cleaned first though.  lol
