  1. Are you exporting from Corel as pdf or svg? When I moved from Corel Draw to Designer many years ago I found that neither pdf nor svg gave an ideal transfer, but between them I managed. John
  2. Although, as @Patrick Connor says, Serif staff do not comment, you will find that other forum members will do so. The more support that comes from such members, the more likely Serif are likely to notice and take the suggestion on board. However, they have their other priorities and they make no public promises so don't hold your breath. You are posting in the appropriate forum already. John
  3. The outside view clearly has a different colour temperature/white balance. I would suggest that you make a selection of the window view, copy it, and then adjust the colour balance of just that selection. John
  4. Hello @Cengiz87, and welcome to the fprums. Sounds like you need Document > Resize Canvas. Place the document in the centre (use the nine dots) and specify the desired width and height (you need to unlock the link between these). You may be able to make this into a macro which you can then use in a Batch Job. John
  5. Hello, @03GO, annd welcome to the forums. The licences you buy for Affinity software are perpetual and include incremental updates (1.9, 1.10 etc). Even if a new upgrade is issued (2.0), the current software will still be valid and will be supported. Serif is not saying when any new upgrade (2.0) will be issued nor is it indicating any price. This is normal commercial business. practise. This information has been know for some time and could easily be found by searching this forum website. John
  6. Hello @decmanai, and welcome to the forums. If you cannot get 1.9 to work, then you can uninstall it and re-install 1.8. John
  7. Yes, you can uninstall 1.9 and download 1.8 and install. Your serial numbr for 1.9 should be valid. John
  8. It probably will depend on how much enlargement you need. For twofold each way Affinity is fine, but for fourfold you may need something more sophisticated. Personally I use BenVista PhotoZoom for the rare occasions I need such power. John
  9. Hello @Mark JB, and welcome to the forums. This would logically belong in a DAM facility which Serif may or may not be thinking about. John
  10. In the Layers panel, at the right-hand edge of each layer there is a tickbox. This is a toggle. Click to change visibility. Affinity Photo displays what are called mipmaps at zoom levels below 100%. These are scaled-down versions of your document for rapid display. Always use 100% for any critical assessment. John
  11. Are you viewing your document at 100%? View at 100% and then click on the visibility icon to observe any change. John
  12. Hello @JamesSwanson and welcome to the forums. I use VueScan for scanning my old photos. It can save the images as 16-bit tiffs. I would recommend scanning in colour, then using Afinity Photo for post-processing and retouching. Photo can convert your image to black-and-white (greyscale). It can also enhance the contrast. It is better to leave any sharpening or clarity adjustments to near the end. Use the dust and scratch removal tool for small imperfections. Use the clone tool or the inpainting brush for larger imperfections. I would suggest you try it out and, if you run into trouble, post your image here for us to see. John
  13. I've not used tempates, but I would guess that the template will determine the overall size of your document. When you drag your image onto the document it will take on its natural size (as determined its pixel dimensions and resolution). This will happen however you add an image to a document. I would have normally suggest a macro to resize your image to your document. Unfortuntely, macros do not play nicely with resizing, but if your target size is going to be constant, then it may well work. John
  14. @AlphabetCountry, can I offer some advice on quoting usenames. First click on '@' then begin to type the name. You will see a dropdown list of possible names. Continue until you see the name you want then click on that name in the list. The user name will appear suitably highlighted. John
  15. Are you saying that the auto-align is not working? You can align manually, but you need to ungroup your stack first. Once you have aligned the layers manually, I know of no way to revert to a HDR stack. You will need to export the layers individually and re-create the HDR stack. John
  16. Hello @Robert K, and welcome to the forums. What app are you using? What exactly do you mean by "working on a document and importing a picture". Is this into the current document? By place or by paste? My experience is that if I open a new document it fills the canvas. John
  17. The problem is not Affinity sandboxing, it is the Apple OS that is doing the sandboxing. You need to raise this with Apple. I wish you luck. John
  18. Once you have your stack aligned, you may wish to crop the stack/document. Note that the crop is non-destructive, but if you export to a raster format, the crop will be maintained. If you do not want to use the Export Persona and slices, then, after ungrouping the stack: Ensure that the blend mode is set to Normal. Export the document to a unlayered format such as jpg or png. Only the top layer will appear in the export. Hide the layer you have just exported and repeat this export process for each layer. John
  19. @dkj As @v_kyr said, its hardware that counts. You really need dedicated film scanner to get the quality you obviously want. If you have a film scanner then VueScan will do what you want (and more cheaply than SilverFast). I do not know if a 48-bit scan will give you any detectable improvement on a 16-bit scan. Those I have done show no obvious improvemnt. It will also very much depend on the quality of your negatives. You will have to try it yourself with your own film. John
