  1. I am not really clear what it is that you are resizing. I created a 10mm square and resized it using *=phi^3 (phi cubed) and the resulting size was 42.4mm square, what I would expect. John
  2. You ask "Why must I consistently rasterize already raster content?" I have never had this problem, what is your layer called? Does it have "(Pixel)" after the layer name? This would indicate a rasterized layer. What happens to your image if you do not rasterize? It has just occurred to me that it may be the Trim aspect that is critical. Did you crop your image? Cropping is non-destructive. PS Affine in mathematics means preserving straight and parallel lines. John
  3. Depending on your image, you may get a smaller file by saving from Designer as png-8. John
  4. Can anyone recommend a cheap graphics card that complies with the requirements for Affinity Photo's recommended hardware specs for graphics accelleration. John
  5. This has worked well for me for a four-page newsletter. John
  6. Hello @Gummidge, and welcome to ths forums. I'm afraid that this is the way that Affinity Photo does things. Many before you have asked for the macro tool to remember actions, not the result of the actions. Maybe in Version 2. So don't hold your breath waiting for this. John
  7. If you could post your original .exr file or an equivalent .afphoto file, we could try this for ourselves. We cannot really use your screenshot for this. John
  8. Hello @Epic Virtual Tours, and welcome to the forums. Affinity Photo will not load files for stacking (HDR etc) from external links such as Bridge. To load your files, open Photo, then select File > New HRD Merge, then click on Add to add files. John
  9. Hello @J.L.Trout, and welcome to the forums. I think that this is something one might look for in Publisher rather than Designer. It could be that Publisher's Data Merge might do what you want, looking at your posted images. John
  10. Hello @nafenminjator, and welcome to the forums. Affinity Photo majors in photo and image pixel editing, but has some good vector-style tools. Affinity Designer majors in vector graphics and graphic design, but has some pixel-editing tools. You sound as if you need Photo. You can download a free trial from the Affinity Store. Affinity Publisher does offer Studio Link which allows you to switch between the three programs easily. Serif offers a refund if you decide you have made the wrong choice, but I think this is limited to 10 days. John
  11. Hello @dpweiler, and welcome to the forums. For a start, you could tell us what operating system/version you are using, and what version of Publisher. You can help yourelf if you remove your email address from youur post. You are vulnerabls to spammers if you expose it. John
  12. Could you confirm that you are operating on (Pixel) layers and not (Image) layers? John
  13. I tried to visit the Redfield website from my PC but I was told that it was unsafe! John
  14. I would guess not, but if not, would it be feasible to transform the Affinity svg to the desired format using a text editor and lots of grepping? John
  15. Redfield says Fractalus works with a 'compatible image editor'. Have you tried it? The download would need to create an .8bf file, not any other adobe-compatible format. Even so, not all .8bf files are created equal - not all will run in Affinity Photo. John
  16. Hello @Big Allan, and welcome to the forums. What Course? Is this one of the various courses listed under Tutorials? As @StudioJason says, you need to contact the course author. I was rather confused by your Title. Did 'AI' refer to 'Artificial Intelligence' or to 'Adobe Illusrator'. It helps to give a meaningful title to your post, possibly something like 'Course templates are unsafe'. Many new members get confused by this. John
  17. The pojnt of exporting to png or tiff is that you will not need further optimisation. John
  18. @larsh, do you still get the artefacts in png or tiff export? John
  19. I have been looking at ATD on the web and it looks as if Adobe has withdrawn ofering this plugin! John
  20. Adobe Textile Designer ( ATD) seems to be offering three proceses. One is the tiling process to create repeating patterns. In Affinity Photo, you can use the Affine filter or the new (v1.9) pattern-making tool (which I have not tried). The second is to Reduce Colours. Again Affinity offers ways to do this, though probably not targetted in the same way as ATD. The third is to work with Colourways. This looks to be something I am not able to comment on. Which of these processes are you looking to do? Are you really sure they cannot be done in Affinity Photo? I know you posted this question in the requests for Affinity Designer, but it looks more like something for Photo. John
  21. You need to ensure that the folder pointed to in the Photoshop Plugins dialogue box is the one containing the plugin files with the .8bf suffix (not the Nix executables). John
