  1. I have also tried this, resizing to 1500px, Lanczos, and see no moire at any view magnification between 25% and 400%. John
  2. I use PhotoZoom rather than Gigapixel, and I tried what you have been doing using PhotoZoom. It uses splines as part of the resizing process. The size of the output from PhotoZoom as exactly the same as the input. John
  3. @Golden_Cheetah Welcome to the forums. I take it that the box pops up when you first open Affinity Photo. Is this a new version or a new update? Did you get the 'Please try again in a moment' the first time it popped up? What happens when you then click on the [Activate] button? You say you have tried everything. It would help if you told us what you have tried, to avoid us telling you to try what youhave already tried. Have you tried a Reset? Hold down the Control Key when opening Affinity. I would help if you have a more informative title such a 'Licence Activation Problem'. John
  4. What do you mean by 'Firmware'? As far as I am aware, Affinity comes as regular software, not as Firmware, (that is embedded in the hardware). John
  5. The macro functionality for copy and paste is limited. If you Copy (Ctrl-C), then it copies that selection into the macro memory so that, during a macro playback, when you Paste (Ctrl-V) it pastes whatever was copied in the original macro recording, not what you copied in the macro playback. John
  6. As has been stated many times before, Serif never (well, hardly ever) comments on what it is working on until it announces it in a beta. For all we know, it has a team of twenty developers working on AI. Then again ... John
  7. They have been watching too many police programs on TV. I am amazed at the enhancement capabilities of TV-police software! John
  8. Same for me. I reduced the exposure by 1.3 stops before developing, and the developed Photo image was just like the adjusted RAW image. John
  9. @VectorWhiz, I downloaded your original png image and applied a curves as close as I could to your one. What I got was this: I have to admit that the solarised effect was more what I expected from the shape of the curve you depicted. It was nothing like the first image you showed. John
  10. @jurand, I have not seen anything like you seem to be getting. It would help if you could give more information: what camera did you use? what is your operating system/platform (MacOS / Windows...)? what version of Affinity Photo? are you using hardware accelleration? John
  11. If you are selling a reproduction, are you not then in breach of copyrght? Even though you are not passing off the original work as your own, you are making a profit from the other's intellectual property. John
  12. I take it that the dimensions of your spread are inches except for the 468 by 606. What is 'pro' (crop to 488 x606 in pro)? After cropping or using Resize Canvas, I find that I usually have to follow this in the macro with Rasterize and Trim. Did you do this? John
  13. @KFreshDetroit, Sorry for the delay. You can easily amend the first part of the macro to resize to 1500px. However, you will need to set the background colour to black before you run the macro (unless any Affinity guru can tell me otherwise). Here is the resizing macro: Layer > Unlock Layer > Rasterize and TrimFilter > Distort > Equations (Enter the following in the x and y fields, then Apply) (x/1500)*max(h,w) (y/1500)*max(h,w)Document > Clip Canvas Layer > RasterizeSelect > Alpha Range > Select Partially Transparent Edit > Fill> Inpainting Select > Deselect The second part would be: Document > Resize Canvas Unlock the link between width and height, set both to 1500. Click on [Resize]. Layer > New Fill Layer (This creates a Black Fill Layer on top of your image, assuming your background colour is set to black. ) Arrange > Move Back One This moves the layer behind your image Here is the macro: Fit to 1500px square.afmacro John
  14. I originally clicked on the arrow to view the video. I have just clicked on the View on the Youtube link at the bottom. I still cannot see the macro link. Neither can at least one commenter, though others obviously can! John)
  15. I had a play at making a ripples macro which some have found useful. The ripples it creates are linear, not circular. Perhaps I might have a go a creating an elliptical ripples macro. John
  16. Was the sky really that lilac colour? John
  17. I had the same problem. I updated my Nik Collection yesterday to v6. I Installed it as usual, then opened Affinity Photo. No sign of any Nik plugin. I looked at the installation folder and noticed a folder called bin. Within that there was a folder called plugins containing the .8bf files. I pointed Photo at this, and after a restart, it found all except Sharpener. I looked in the Nik Collection Directory and noticed that the Sharpener folder had yesterdays date. I pointed Photo at this folder and again it then found it. John
  18. Look first in the Topaz installation folder for a subfolder containing the 8bf files. In the plugins dialogue box, there is a button labelled Add. Use this to add more folders for Photo to look into. Browse to the plugins folder and click OK. John
  19. Do you have the Topaz plugin files (ending in .8bf) in the directories that Affinity is looking into? John
