MCFC_4Heatons got a reaction from Jowday in Affinity Photo Integration - No Access To Photoshop Plugins
I have the latest registered versions of Publisher, Photo and Designer installed. I have Photoshop Plugins set up and working in Photo, however when I switch to Photo Persona in Publisher, the Photoshop Plugins are not available.
How do I make my Photoshop Plugins available when using Photo Persona from inside Publisher or is it a bug?

Its NOT little, we were told Photo and Designer would be integrated ... in fact its not a COMPLETE integration - so therefore it was misleading.
Whats YOUR PROBLEM? Are you an Affinity developer or just some busy-body who doesn't like people giving honest feedback?????? I suggest you get another hobby rather than lurking on these forums moaning about honest opinions that can ACTUALLY make a difference.
I'll come back in a few months to see if Affinity have sorted this out - in the meantime I'll continue using Adobe Fiireworks and occassionally Photoshop.
And yes, I'll continue with my honest feedback .... good OR bad ....

this sucks - I was very dissapointed - I have no real need for publisher at all, but purchased it to get what I thought was a full designer and photo integrated expereience.

MCFC_4Heatons got a reaction from PaulAffinity in Plugin update with Beta - 1.7.2.414
Duplicating a layer is a workaround its not the same thing - I want to know if Affinity have plans to implemen properly ......

I think all the Red Giant plugins are for video editing; Premier After Effects etc .... As far as I'm aware they have ceased developing plugins for Photoshop and I don't think you can even purchase Knoll Light Factory for Photoshop any more at least not as single product on its own (it may be bundled with the suite).

Welcome to the forum RickJohnson :)
Yea it's called Bilateral Blur. It can be accessed from Filters > Blur > Bilateral Blur... or by clicking the Live Filters button on the Layers Panel.
Hope this helps!

MCFC_4Heatons got a reaction from Panoramiac in Integration With Designer & Photo - How It Works?
I would really like to see how the integration works with Designer and Photo. Do those two buttons; Vector and Photo Persona just launch the respective programs or is there tighter integration. Not really keen on making round trips between programs to do minor tasks. For example; no clone tool in Designer means a trip into Photo to touch up a bitmap then back to Designer.

If you could just integrate these two programs into one seamless app then you would have a perfect replacement for Adobe Fireworks. I'm not a fan of switching from one to the other

MCFC_4Heatons got a reaction from CLC in Arc warp
We purchased Photo and Designer to have a look at them ...... I'll come back in a year and see where Affinity are then.... in the meantime I'll continue using Adobe Fireworks & occassionally Photoshop ... Hopefully a few of the glaring ommissions in Photo and Designer will be there by then like presets for text ant-aliasing, mesh warp,, arc, arch, etc ... at the moment the tools & a bit frustrating to use with such omissions, it seems hard to get a definititve answer from Affinity too, I don't see any direct support.... only forums? You'll end up like Adobe with a total disconnect from your customers if you're ot careful.... I fully expect Adobe to lose a lot of customers inthe next few years

MCFC_4Heatons got a reaction from Chul in Designer - Free transform tool (perspective distort)
Ok I've got it
In Publisher
1) draw a rectangle
2) convert to curves
3) select node tool
4) hold down shift to select two diagonally opposite points
5) select one of the points and drag to get this effect
Can't wait to try designer and photo with publisher to see how well they are integrated...

MCFC_4Heatons got a reaction from jstnhllmn in Running Before You Can Walk - Missing Some Basics
Its a great tool but using the latest Beta is mightly frustrating that some basics/fundementals are missing ...
1) Please add a basic persepctive tool that works on bitmaps / vectors, in Adobe Fireworks its called the skew tool & works seamlessly on bitmaps or vectors. Altthough I have copies of both Photo and Designer its tedious switching between programs sometimes, maybe because I am long time Adobe Fireworks users and used to the all in one program approach.
2) Please add some text anti-aliasing pre-sets/options, the native feature that was explained to me in Designer is totally alien.
3) Ability to crop the canvas area either mannually with a crop tool or crop to selection ... Its really useful when designing indiviudual graphic elements

still no text anti-aliasing in the latest beta of designer ... seems a glaring ommission to me??? Any particular reason why this feature doesn't seem to get any attention from the developers?

MCFC_4Heatons got a reaction from Aammppaa in Designer -Text Anti-aliasing Presets?
I was hoping that something had changed since that post ... It is an absolute must to have some better text anti-aliasing options. We couldn't replace Fireworks (still our main go to app) or Photoshop with Affinity Designer/Photo without this feature. I think Affinity have done a great job but as a newbie looking at Designer I think they are adding some more advanced vector features whilst overlooking a few key/fundamental features required in everyday use, especially if you are primary concerned with screen/ui/web design mock-ups or creating design elements/components for screen then its a must. I'm not trying to hammer the Affinity devs, just trying to offer constructive feedback, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a future version.

MCFC_4Heatons got a reaction from Jowday in Designer - Free transform tool (perspective distort)
This is a glaring omission in a vector based tool. Any ideas when 1.7 will be released and will it deffo include this?
In Fireworks you can select the skew tool and drag one of the bottom corners of a square outwards for example to achieve this affect, it is quite a common task:
