  1. Hi, I think that may be the same problem I've had for the last 4 years. The thin white bar on the left side of the screen will often change to a bar on the top or right side of the screen as you change the zoom settings. sometimes it will disappear completely - until you change the zoom again. This has happened since back around the AP version 1.50 period (maybe earlier), and has occurred on every release. Uninstalling and reinstalling prior versions of AP had no effect. Over that period of time, I've replaced video drivers twice and upgraded the video card, but nothing has helped. I essentially gave up trying to resolve it, and is one of the reasons I don't use Affinity Photo. I have AP installed on a windows 7 SP1 desktop, using a Dell U2412M monitor. The aspect ratio of this screen is 16:10. Lacking any other solution I've wondered if AP doesn't deal properly with that aspect ratio. I'll keep tabs on this entry to see if anyone can determine the cause. Mike
  2. I've done some more tests. I was able to replicate the problem, but not reliably. I opened the same D800E image file. While still in the Develop persona but with no edit changes, I did a Cancel, then Close document, and closed the application. The same error occurred again. I opened several other D800E images, repeated those steps, but got no errors at all. I repeated again with the original file, and also got no error. It looks like an intermittent problem with the Dot Net framework v4.0.30319, so I looked further in the Windows event viewer. I found an identical occurrence of the same error logged when my normal editor Capture NX2 ended abnormally. Since this seems to be intermittent and only occurs when the application is already closed, I’m going to ignore it. And there’s no way I’m going to go grubbing around in the Dot Net frameworks – that’s asking for problems. Separately, I’d like to add that my impression that Affinity Photo looks very capable. When it comes out of beta, I expect that a lot of people will find it a compelling product to use. I look forward to further refinement of it. Best regards, Mike
  3. Ha - I meant "I described my activities", not "I described my abilities". Sorry for the typo. Mike
  4. Hi, @ Chris_K - please see the contents of the text file attached in the original post. I described my abilities in there, along with the error messages. @ Mark Ingram - I don't think I ever had the Axis and Gris Manager open at any time. I had to look in the Help section just now to know what you were referring to. I took a look at the panel now, and didn't recognize it. Sorry. @ Treehunter - I was still in the develop module when the file was open, and wouldn't have tried to switch personas. But there probably were different personas used before I opened the final D800E file. And I made no attempt to use luminosity masking. If I get a chance this evening, I'll try Photo with some other D800E image files. These tend to be quite large RAW files, but that may be completely unrelated to the problem. Thanks for your comments, Mike
  5. Hi, Thanks for the chance to try the Affinity beta. While trying it today, I had it end in an application error. I've copied the contents of the pertinent Windows event logs. They are attached in a separate text file. Thanks, Mike Affinity Error Message 01.txt
