Thanks for the file. It would help to also have the .docx file you were using, I think.

Here's what I can see so far: The Placed version has the following characteristics if you look at the Text Styles panel:

The pasted version has this simpler set of characteristics:

One possible explanation for the difference you're seeing is that the Place is transferring more of the characteristics of the original document than Paste did. Having Prevent Widows and Prevent Orphans enabled would cause the effect you've noted.

But without seeing the original file I can't say if that's the cause, or if Place is transferring something incorrectly.

I added the file you're looking for.

The only way to deal with this is to Clear the masters and then to reapply the masters. It is a bug with inserting or deleting an odd number of pages from the middle of the publication.

The odd thing is when I drag the master page to reapply to all pages, the master page layer goes on top, and all the texts, pictures below at the layers panel. I think the master page should always stick or locked at the bottom of the layers.

    Not a bug, probably, @osang

The Typography settings only apply to a subset of characters implemented by the font. Positioning and Transform should work for all characters, as it's handled by Affinity, not the font. But the results may not be as good as Typography can provide for the characters provided by the font.

Strange, but in Designer 1.61, same setting and font, the superscript is working.
