  1. At work so can't try this right now but maybe create a new document file of the exact size fill/draw as required, select all and copy paste into original document? Regards
  2. woop woop AP team, really appreciate your hard work It's Friday.... hopefully your all in the pub!
  3. FWIW I had reason to go back and open PE. Having not used it since I got AP, which I bought on release day, I had forgotten just how sloooow PE was. AP beta much faster at loading and handling big files. I have a very poorly spec'd machine so the difference is exaggerated. MS Creators update hasn't helped though!
  4. Hi Mark, I've been through a few documents without issue seems to be just this file. It's a 1/2 MB file if you want to have a look at it. Regarding the stability comment, I think I have a different issue with that. I am getting more display issues with .75 that I can only describe a 'flickering' and pixelisation. Even on starting AP it opens to black, flashes to white for a few seconds they the UI appears. Functions ok after that though. On reflection I'm now really suspecting the MS Creators 'upgrade' has made my machine unstable (timeline - installed AP .75 played a little with it, went on holiday, MS updates on return then started to process photos). I'm going to go back to my release version of AP for a while to see what that's like as it didn't have those display issues. Regards
  5. Overall .75 just doesn't seem as stable as previous betas also note the pixilation. I was changing colour format to RGB 32 bit
  6. Hi Paul, The reason I mention AV is that when I use DxO Optics Pro to process RAWs I have to switch my AV off (and internet obviously!) AV kills it, no matter what exclusions I try so I'm always suspicious of it. In fairness AP does play well with it though. Looking through this forum the recurring theme is speed/performance in the Win environment. I have no doubt that Serif are working real hard on this aspect. Now total speculation on my part but I've noticed on the latest beta more screen flashing for want of a better description between certain processes almost like they are trying different ways to manipulate/use machine resources. Up to .75 I've found a marked difference in performance (to betas advantage) but if I'm honest I'm not sure about .75 it just feels less stable. I'd image that beta and live are using different code base I'd also image that in dev they have a large number of code branches too! I'd really like them to release a new live version that's stable and no debug with the same document structure as the current beta so there is no potential compatability issues. They could then move forward with beta developement with 'less' concern over something unstable or underperforming getting released, it is beta after all. Of course caviat to that would be that the document structure is getting changed for performance reasons so it's pointless releasing a live update right now! Who knows, I obviously don't! :) Regards
  7. Hi Paul, Sorry I'm obviously not staff and it's them you really want to hear from but I'm curious about something. Assuming with that set up your machine is not connected to the internet, do you have AV on that machine? if so what is it and does switching it off then re-starting AP change the timings any? Regards
  8. Sorry, but I seriously hope Serif ignore this request. A human face causes offence wow, let's remove women from all advertising, actually let's remove them from the streets too!!! To the OP suggest you put a paper beg over your head for thirty seconds whilst the program starts.
  9. I use three raw editors precisely because they are all different bringing different strengths to the party. Took me quite a while to get to grips with C1 but well worth the learning curve, fabulous for people. DxO great for prime not so good on some images particular backlit at times etc. What particularly do you not like about the AP version? AP looks too warm to me, that's easily fixed it's also rendered softer which I prefer for a portrait rather than the over sharpened PS output. So that's one each ;) I'm going to go out on a limb here so more than happy to be corrected but I believe that the likes of Lightroom and PS apply a default curve to raws I guess to help people along but AP doesn't OOB. If any better informed could confirm/deny this I'd be most interested. Personally I think the develop persona is a bit 'crude' for want of a better word, lacking refinement in tools and flow, I don't think it's really prime time yet but I really hope dream that at some point they will have a none destructive flow from develop to photo and back again! So I do agree that it's well worth keeping an eye on it to see how it develops
  10. Hi Timo, Re the second issue, I can select any of the formats and the save as dialogue shows the correct selected format. what your showing in the screenshot doesn't happen for me (actually not possible!) wonder if it's a language specific bug between the OS and AP ? Regards
  11. That's great news Mark, much appreciated! @AlainP thanks for the info. I did try changing to sRGB in AP not in OS doh!
  12. I'm getting what looks like highlight clipping alert (light blue) fill which I've never had before in .afphoto document (photo persona). Have tried several other ICC profiles other than my usual one and have a profiled monitor. Just looks like I need to know how to switch the alert off?
  13. Great thoughtful thread, hope it stays focused on AP. I'd like to think Serif would consider commenting. Regards
  14. It's been mentioned before in one of the plugin threads, nearly 12,000 sigs so far I guess on a world scale that's pretty poor but where there's hope! :)
  15. Hi pwop, I'd recommend you start your own thread for this, it'll get lost in here. Windows or Apple OS? Regards
  16. Cool image! My only comment (and it's purely down to personal taste) is that I feel the light ray edges, particularly on the right are a little too harsh. I'd soften the falloff on the edges.
  17. That's a cool idea, especially when I have a horrible habit of holding a camera at 1 deg off square
