  1. Hi, Simple arrowhead for lines??? (Yes I know there's are ways to create them) This has got to be the easiest thing to do and not sure why it's not a part of AFD after several years. When I need arrowheads I leave AFD and go to other programs. I'd line not to. Thanks, John...
  2. Hi crabtrem and JoePoe, First thanks for the answer to how to add attachments. And JoePoe, yes I used the exact ratio, so that when I scaled it down and power duplicated it applied it is decreasing scale sizes. It was amazingly perfect. Currently they are all separate pieces. I used this as a logo and the arcs have various colors assigned to them. So this approach provides the flexibility. Again, thank you to all for your help. Appreciate, John...
  3. Hi all, After experimenting I settled on this approach: 1. Create a square 500px. 2. Duplicate square 3 times creating a 2x2 grid. 3. From the center of the grid create a circle within the grid boundary. This create a perfect arc within each square. 4. Select them all and Divide into shapes (will allow me to color fill segments later). 5. Delete the other three squares and arcs. Only the first one will be left. 6. Now Alt+Cmd and duplicate, position, resize to 309px, and rotate once to the right. 7. Power duplicate (Cmd+J) as many as needed. Perfect!!! I couldn't figure out how to add an attachment (although I have in the past?). I added the image to dropbox. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3003109/Golden%20Spiral.jpg Power duplicate is amazing!!! Hope that helps someone else. Thanks everyone for your help. John...
  4. HI all, Thanks for the replies. Busy today but I'll try to get to each suggestion in the evening and let you know how it went. Appreciate, John...
  5. Hi all, (Sorry I misplaced this in feature requests earlier) I'm trying to create a golden spiral within the golden mean rectangles. I have the rects laid out and look perfect. So I need to add the arcs within each rect for all the rects. But not easy because there's no arc tool. The line tool sort of works. But I need the arc constrained to a perfect diagonal curve that is the same within each rectangle. I've tried using the line tool and controlling the nodes... But I cannot get the smooth consistent arc so that the illusion of the spiral is consistent from rect to rect. So this must be seriously easy and I am missing something. Maybe there is a mathematical property I can impose upon them? Please tell me what I am missing or how I am not handling the tool correctly? Appreciate, John...

Although I've seen it frequently requested.
  7. Hi Andrew! BINGO!!! That's what I was looking for and couldn't locate. Thanks so much. Appreciate, John...
  8. Hi all, This used to work! When I would quit AffinityDesigner (AD) and reopen it all the documents would reopen. Now they don't. I checked the Preferences and the 'Reopen Document on Startup" is checked. Is there something I'm missing? Some system folder on the Mac (10.9.5) that's not setup right? I repaired permissions and didn't see anything there. I think it started when I had to reinstall OSX a couple weeks back and copy over Apps (since my clone wound up being incomplete). Everything works fine otherwise. In all my apps excepts these docs not reopening. Anyone else with this issue? Thanks, John...
  9. Hey ABC, Too easy! I realize that I got lost in the stroke and missed the gap. Removing the stroke and then duplicating, rotating at the gap I needed, was all I needed in this case. Thanks for helping me see the gap. John...
  10. Hi ABC, Ref: "Use the fantastic Power Duplicate feature. Simply duplicate your object by Opt+Drag (or Cmd+J), move it to the desired position, and “power duplicate” it by hitting Cmd+J the desired number of times … see my movie … :)" I did! That's how I created the original object. But I was not able to get the controlled horizontal/vertical spacing I wanted. I'll take a look at your video. I probably missed something. Appreciate, John...
  11. Hi retrograde, Interesting handle. I took a look at the erase blend but it just "erases" everything. When I open up the editor I can figure it out. Can you walk me through how using nth erase blend could create "gaps" between object? Thanks, John...
  12. Hi all, Yea I could use Illustrator. In this case I'm trying to see how well AD maps and what workarounds would be required. It's probable that using a blending tool in AP would work. But it doesn't really resolve the issue. This exercise has shown that we need to be able to set horizontal/vertical gaps between objects. And I think we would need to take an object and have it convert the stroke and the fill into separate objects. That would help a lot. John...
  13. Hi All, Well after some further experimenting, slightly different object, I realized that I can create a stroke (wide enough) and make it white then it will have the appearance of a gap on a white background. Not perfect but at least workable. See attached example/ Of course it would be better if the gap had no color then I can place it on whatever background without issue. Further ideas? John...
  14. Hi all, I was going through an Illustrator tutorial and I could do most everything (except of couple things). After creating the attached complex shape you could auto gap between the various (triangles) in this example. I tried using Arrange Align Horizontally/Vertically but that created a mess. I think it solves a different problem. Anyway is there any way to auto create a gap of say 10 pixels between each object in this shape? Thanks, John...
