Hi,
I do not have many options, I use Pentax cameras which have 2 options for RAW files: PEF or DNG. I have chosen DNG so I don't have sidecar files.
So if I want to keep my originals and their adjustments, I need to save the file after treatment in the Develop Persona.
Many Photoshop users (ACR) need to convert their Raw files to DNG not to have a sidecar file.
One way or another, it is a matter of taste.

Each app does apply a different tone curve due to the nature of the raw enginge. Some use information from the camera profile which we currently do not. I'm glad you managed to find a method that makes the image appear more acceptable for you though

At the first pictures at the top is the tone curve in the wizard turned off, only in the last one I wanted to show that in the black 0, I was something too hasty

Found the answer in this video:
A default tone adjustment is applied automatically and must be ticked off.
