TEcHNOpls got a reaction from Aammppaa in Tile windows
Hi,
I'm working on a few photos at once and I need to see them side-by-side.
Can you add an option to tile the windows?
For now I need to float all windows and arrange them manually.

TEcHNOpls got a reaction from Domus in Merge Visible is slow
It's much slower than export, which by definition needs to do the same operation. (I know it's a simplification, but it should not take ~3x time of export, esp that I usually export with more layers enabled).

TEcHNOpls reacted to Chris B in Affinity Photo Windows Customer Beta - 1.10.3.1188
It was:
Changes Since 1.9.3 (source)
- Fixed crop tool issue where all presets were landscape.
What's wrong with the Rotate button? I'm not sure how the app can anticipate whether you want to do a landscape or portrait crop.
I don't think it's realistic to have a landscape and portrait preset for each of the ratios. The list is already long enough. This is why there's a Rotate button on the context toolbar.
Either add your own preset, manage it and move it to the top of the list if it's one you use regularly or use the Rotate button.

Fair enough, sorry for being a bit salty :c

The only windows specific changes were to remove a performance improvement (temporarily), the rest of the changes were specific to macOS, iPad, or Publisher.

I had the same experience with crashes, just adding a group with two levels layers cases a crash.

Use File > Save History with Document before Saving.

TEcHNOpls got a reaction from Roar in Pointer Support (general help improvements)
What is "Pinter support"? Help does not help here (•Choose whether to enable pointer support.).
There many places where the help is lackluster, to say the least. A general revision of help system would be useful, even if you have books about this, a clearer description, even rudimentary should be available.

TEcHNOpls reacted to Chris B in Backwards compatibility broken
I think this is OpenCL affecting the High Pass filter in the first group. If I turn off either OpenCL or the High Pass filter, it seems ok. I'd keep OpenCL off for now until we can sort this.

TEcHNOpls got a reaction from debraspicher in Backwards compatibility broken
Hi,
currently (and for a few previous betas too), most of my older files open looking completely broken, I can send you some files if needed, but it's a really breaking bug, I need to go back to older photos from time to time and I can't rely on AP for this.
I think this was already reported a few betas ago and the response was that it's a known issue. This is bad.
Current Beta looks:

Ye, this is just FUD, is it deliberate or intentional, I'm not to judge, still sounds like someone didn't read anything and just went on a damaging rant.

Hey TEcHNOpls,
I just want to let you know that we've reproduced this and the issue has been logged with the developers. Thank you so much for your time and assistance!

This is true. I've improved the logging to make sure lines are flushed to disk after writing for the hardware acceleration logging now (this will be available in the next beta).

This is a known issue. I would use the retail until this is fixed in the beta. Thanks for the report

TEcHNOpls got a reaction from Chris B in Somthing wrong with High Pass?
Hi,
I just opened some older file and now it looks like some kind of issue with high pass layer. With it enabled, it looks like this.
This is how it looked before (exported):
